Rumor: Bizarre working on James Bond game
14
You know, up until a few years ago, James Bond games were big business. In fact, they were so hot that publishers actually created 007 plotlines (Everything Or Nothing, Nightfire) when movies weren't coming quickly enough. Sadly, since 2005's From Russia With Love, the series has sat stagnant, with the best Bond film in recent memory not even getting the video game treatment.
Now though, it appears Ian Fleming's secret agent is staging a comeback, not only with a Treyarch-developed action game but with a previously-rumored second Bond project, which EGM may have gotten the scoop on. The mag is reporting the rumor that recently-acquired Bizarre Creations is the dev behind the second project, a driving-heavy 007 outing. (If the idea sounds familiar, it should: EA took at stab at it in 2000 with the PSone's 007 Racing.) We're not sure what we're more excited about: The fact that Bizarre could be working on a Bond game, or the welcome news that there's not going to be another street racing franchise cluttering up shelves.

I totally read that title wrong. I thought it said, "Rumor: Blizzard working on James Bond game." - which would make sense seeing how Activision has non-exclusive rights to do James Bond games.

If they bring it back to a FPS, give it this generations jig, good storyline and no scene where we get hit in the nuts and the controller vibrates enough to give us cancer then i would buy this. only is gamespot gives it a good review though

After "The Club" ships, we'll know how good Bizzare Creations is at making games that dont envolve cars. If the game is good I predict that the new JamesBond game they will work on wont just be about driving around in an Astin Martin... I wish them luck... They did miracles (IMO) when it came to make xbox and xbox 360 race titles (and dont forget that those are the guys behing Geometry Wars too!)

Obsidian is also supposed to have a "British Spy Game" in the works. Maybe they are co-developing a title? It's purely speculative but it could be a great thing for both devs - and something that team hasn't done since they were Black Isle.

The Bond series has been doing fine, I don't know what you guys are talking about.
--Agent Under Fire was alright.
--Nightfire came close to Goldeneye 64.
--Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, of course, doesn't exist :).
--Everything or Nothing was a fantastic game with great gameplay and rewards.
--FRWL was a proper adaptation of the movie.
Where has the Bond series been at a decline?

It is not a rumor. It's actually in development and planned to come out at the end of 2008, as I just listened to an activision representative in Spain mention it. (part of an interview on a radio station)
