First look at Halo 3's Heroic Map Pack
17
We've done it again fanboys. We've gone and stayed up all night (and morning) painstakingly editing a multiplayer map walk through video for your enjoyment and entertainment. What can we say, we're hardcore. Our Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack walk through is embedded above and, just like our Gears of War Hidden Fronts walk through that was posted a few months back, we break down each map, give you a glimpse at what is offered and show off a few highlights. It's an X3F original video and we think it's worth your time. Even if you're firmly against purchasing the DLC.
On a side note, we don't recommend the consumption of three energy drinks at two-o-clock in the morning. Not only will you get sick of the patented energy drink taste, but you'll also get a nasty stomach ache to boot. Sleep deprivation and energy drink stomach issues aside, our Halo 3 Standoff, Foundry and Rat's Nest video preview awaits your viewing ... just push play.

You say "we're hardcore", you actually mean that YOU Dustin, are hardcore. It's cool... we know you are the only halo fanboy on the team.

Thanks Dustin for burning the midnight Red Bulls and working on the video!
I worked for almost four hours on one of my maps yesterday and another two hours more on another I'd built with friends last night. I'm tired too!

On the RvB overview of the maps, when they showed Standoff, it looked like there was a room that if you get caught in someone could hit a switch and burn you alive or something. Anyone else remember seeing that? Or did I just mistake that for a flamethrower?

After viewing it..it was a little too quiet to hear your run-through at parts. Generally a good primer for the people that haven't set aside the $10 yet for the maps though!
Everyone should buy this pack, for sure; it's well worth the money! Don't be a cheapskate!

I agree, well worth the money. I've spent $10 or far worse stuff.

Nice one Dustie...
I bought it knowing that if I didnt, I'd be a spoil-sport in ALL games.

The maps are fun, but i keep getting rats nest in the Heroic DLC playlist, and to actually play i spend 5-10 minutes searching for games, when it clearly says 134 games found. Also i hate how all my friends are cheap scates and no one is buying the maps, i have no one to customize foundry with :(

Nice vid dusty. BTW, what do you use to capture video from your 360? I've been looking for a decent capture card/program to do that.

These maps are definitely fun.. especially driving a warthog on Rat's Nest. My least favorite is the default version of Foundry because its kind of just a cf, but it looks like a lot of good fun can come of it w/ Forge.
I will have to wait to check out your vid when I get home, but I am interested in the things that I've missed.

are these maps in the big team battle playlist (or at least rats nest and standoff?)
I really dont have fun in anything but big team (need 16 players) and I dont want to buy these maps if I can only play them in that 12 player dlc matchmaking list.

This was my only exposure to the default Foundry form since I never have played it...I jumped right into creating my own maps.
(Feel free to download them from my fileshare.. Gamertag Magic Whiskey...Map Variants 'Crossfire' and 'Dodgeball', and a cleared Foundry called 'Empty Foundry'.) Send the love!
