I always ask the Brits on Live why the Euros have such a hard on for the playstation brand, every other response has been "because they're wankers".

I don't know if this answers any questions but I just thought I would share it with you all.

well europe was the only market where the sega megadrive(genesis to americans) outsold the snes and because the saturn didnt exactly turn out so great the people who had megadrives probably moved on to playstations

I'm having a problem here in the States finding an Elite. Went to Best Buy and they had none for a couple of weeks, went one day they had five, came back the next day and they were plum out again. Hopefully they'll restock again, or I might have to call around to the other BB's in the area.

it's the holidays, all the consoles are rallying. i am quite surprised by 360 shortages though, the console has been out for two years now. thought they would have that under control.

Just this last month 4 more of my close friends (which were loyal PS2 fanboys) got 360's and bout 3 more are getting it either from their wives for Christmas or just buying it for themselves for Christmas. I do not know a single person with a PS3 which is sad because its waiting under my tree to be raped lol and I will not have any real buddies of mine to game with.

In all seriousness I think the 360 is "This-Gens" PS2.

On a side not I was on IGN this morning watching a 3-part Dark Sector Dev walkthough and it looks phenominal you guys should chk it out.

Funny thing is in the category it sais PS3 and its also always mainly filed under PS3 since I heard that was the lead platform for this game but all the footage showed it being played from a 360 controller. Why is that? Im not flaming here Im really curious about why this usually happens. Same as COD4 and other big titles...footage is always from the 360.

It could mean the 360 is a superior machine or you might just be reading more meaning into just playing it from a 360 which is cheaper if you want to test cross platform games.

From the way you've written this comment its hard to believe it isn't fanboy baised. Are you saying they shouldn't advertise their products? Are you claiming MS never had a comming soon 360 game Ad? You claiming the reasons you mentioned isn't good enough to get a PS3 is just plain stupid. The only bad thing going for the PS3 is the price, if the price was reasonable, people would buy it and wait for games to come out, since the price doesn't justify the waiting right now. Currently there are enough games that can be played on the PS3 and the lineup next year is insane.

If you are happy with your 360, fine. Don't lie about the PS3 being a crappy machine coz it isn't.

it's on a 360 pad cos they make it on pc and can't be bothered to hook up the ps3 pad via bluetooth. do you really think they develop directly onto the 360? with a usb keyboard and mouse?

When watching these previews like Dark Sector there are button prompts and those buttons are always Xbox360 buttons A, B, X, Y, RB, LB, you get it right? Why would this be shown if this is a PS3 lead? Why not have PS button prompts, X, O, triangle, and so on. On another occasion like this with a diff game even the website columnist noticed this and said it just shows you that the PS3 while claiming to be far superior to 360 is not actually that more superior thn it claims to be. If anything the 360 has a better GPU, more RAM 512mb, and easier to Dev for. Look it up on system specs buddy.

So if you read the previous article on this website that Brits are invading France so they can look for Wiis and buy, and now with the xbox360 struggling in demand on the British Isles, I guess this is good for both Microsoft and Nintendo who are doing good on the British Isles. I guess if there is not enough xbox360 Brits should ride the chunnel into france and look for 360s, or if they lucky enough find a Wii, Not much mainland Europeans like Wii or xbox360. The dominance of the playstation on the European mainland reminds me of the Nazi Empire that controlled much of the European mainland. I hope the Wii and Xbox360 can conquer Europe and defeat the ps3.

errrr every time i go into town (i live in sw england) i can guarantee that i will see a pile of xbox360's in every game shop (and supermarket) i go in. not to mention the piles of pre-owned ones in the window. amazingly it's actually the ps3 that's short of stock now (along with wii). i think m$ feel left out so had to make up some crap (gasp as if they've never done that before!)

In most parts of Italy, Wii, X360 and Ps3 are still available. In my city you can find any console anywhere: there's no shortage here.

Looking at the boxes in the shops, it seems that the X360 is the one that sells faster because its tower it's always the smallest. But maybe it's just a coincidence or a local trend.

BTW, I've a X360 and PS3. Not interested in Wii right now.

Speaking for Australia, Nintendo announced on Tuesday that DS and Wii's were completely out of stock. Microsoft announced on Wednesday that the XMAS pack (Pro pack) was out of stock. You can still get the Arcade, but the Elite is in VERY small numbers too.

Looks like the only console you can just walk in and buy are Sony's. There are lots of PSPs, PS2 and PS3's around!

Guys this is the UK....which is probably the biggest market in the European Union. I call bull on the shortage for either system - I go to buy dvds at least once a week at the local HMV here in London and I tell you there are always 360s on the shelves and always loads of PS3s there, like they hadn't sold a PS3 in weeks...hardly flying out the door. There is always one or two people at the counter however asking when they are getting more Wiis in. And guess what, these people don't then go and pick up a PS3 or a 360...they just leave unhappy. The 360 has to improve its marketing over here though - you see a lot of PS3 ads and Wii ads on the tele but the closest thing i've seen to a 360 ad is for CoD4.

this is rubbish, we've had a near constant supply of 360s in our store since the elite launched. It's the DS and Wii thats in huge supply troubles here in England this Christmas.

i wanted to buy a Wii, but after much frustration, I bought a 360. Two people at my work have done the same thing. It's hard to believe that in this day and age a company can even have supply problems.
