"Has mankind ever dumped volcanic ash all over the earth and killed everything that inhabits it but not themselves?"

Yes. It's in the Bible.

V1L3 - Q4MFT.

Seriously, you nailed it. I can't believe how many selfish, uneducated motherfuckers there are among my fellow gamers.

Thank you for being one of the sane ones!

I'd have to agree with most of the people here, Greenpeace are a bunch of assholes. Don't believe me, here's part of their mission statement.

"Greenpeace is an independent, campaigning organization which uses peaceful direct action and creative communication to expose global environmental problems, and to force solutions for a green and peaceful future."

I don't know about you people, but somehow I don't think the words force and peaceful belong in the same sentence. In other words, YOU CAN'T FORCE PEACE TO HAPPEN, it's an oxymoron impossible of being achieved by the means they want to use. If they want a "green and peaceful future" Greenpeace should actually do something about the pollution and shit they blame on corporations instead of just pointing fingers.

I have yet to hear of Greenpeace doing anything resembling physical work, so why do people defend them since playing the blame game doesn't do jack shit?

"YOU CAN'T FORCE PEACE TO HAPPEN"

As stated before, I'm not particularly fond of Greenpeace, but what about Gandhi...

I'm pretty sure he used peaceful direct action to force the British out of India, so...

Without force you cant make anything happen. its just simple physics. You know, Newton's first law of motion - things remain in the state they are in unless a force is applied to them.

I think you are confusing force with violence. And their mission statement says "peaceful direct action" - means they dont use violence.

Thanks for posting a link this time to the violence claim. Much appreciated.

As for the source, since we're being transparent here, I'd like to point out that the Social Issues Research Centre that the article came from is a "sister organization" of MCM Research, a UK PR firm for the food, liquor and restaurant industries.

Seeing as the article was focused on the destruction of experimental GMO crops from the think tank arm of food industry PR firm... I'll let you all draw your own conclusions

I think the whole point of this exercise is to force companies to publicly state their environmental policies, not bury them out of sight. If Nintendo is indeed doing good things they can bask in the glow of a high score next time around. But this year since they didn't state their policies they get a big fat zero.

Actually they can't enjoy a high score next year because part of the yearly score is how well you did the year before.

Lads (I assume you're all lads), this is a serious issue. We can still make machines., enjoy games and be kind to the planet through environmentally sensitive processes. Chill out and turn those Wiis off standby. You'll love yourselves just a little bit more (if that's possible ;-)
