At last! I can't wait to connect my iMac to my PS3 and stream stuff. Just yesterday I was struggling with it, and had no luck.

If you can't wait download "eyeconnect." That's what I've been using and its "FREE." Plus it doesn't just stream like the connect360 you can transfer files to your PS3 from your mac you can't do that on the connect360. I do use the connect360 on my 360 at home and its a good program but I just like Eyeconnect a little better on the PS3.

Eyeconnect is only free for the trial period (30 days?) After that it reverts to music-only. Mine just ran out the other day. Like it, but think I'll check out this new solution before I decide if Eyeconnect is worth the $50.

Not sure what you mean by "FREE", but EyeConnect is $50 US with a 30 day trial. Seems rather pricey.

I'm hoping ConnectPS3 is the same price as Connect360, but I don't know the relative development challenges.

TVersity works great if you're hosting files on a PC and even supports DivX. There's plenty of DLNA server software out there (except, evidently, for the Mac).

TVersity works by transcoding (in addition to often downscale resolution) everything (but mpeg-1) to MPEG-1 (or MPEG-2 if you have the number crushing power). Ever tried to take a quality (good picture, small size) mpg4avc/xvid video and stream it? It sucks! Transcoding? Just say no!

PS! This rant was about video. Photos and sounds works like a charm, although a lot slower than it needs to be.

The best software I've found so far actually costs money. The latest Nero suite includes Nero Mediahome. It does transcoding from nearly any format and serves the PS3 flawlessly.

The beauty of it is that since you're being served transcoded files that are in mpg format, you can select things it's serving and actually copy them to the PS3 hard drive. After that they play natively from the hd.

In case you got confused popfrogs this is for MAC TO PS3 STREAMING. Not PC streaming we know there are already decent options for that.

I know, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for the PC guys that think Tversity is good (it blows). Mac streaming needs help...Macs just don't have much software for anything (still). I feel sorry for you guys, honestly, because MacOSX is so nice.

Thank god NullRiver, not having connect ps3 for mac to ps3 streaming has been a nightmare with all these other halfbaked programs (eyeconnect, twonkyvision, all blow folks).

Twonky Media 4.4 works flawless for me on leopard and PS3.. Eyeconnect gave me errors when playing music and pressing the PS button and viewing images at the same time.

twonkyvision works brilliantly for me as a wireless media server client on the mac - I transferred 25GB of music and video from a G4 powerbook to my now 250GB PS3 at the weekend, took about 3 hours. just need native divx support on the ps3 and it'll be rocking

for those wanting to stream from a Mac to the PS3, I've found a good link with some explicit instructions on how to do so, it's quite a task, so I'd only recommend this to those not intimidated by the command line. I've not done this myself btw, but I plan to;
