Play Magazine has gotten the scoop on the next Tomb Raider game (which may or may not be subtitled Underworld) and what few details there are sound tantalizing to say the least. The game (developed by Crystal Dynamics) takes place a few years after the excellent Legend and finds Lara in "a lush, vast interactive world that reacts and remembers".
Along those lines, the piece gives an example of Lara leaving footprints in mud, though they're eventually washed away by rain. ... OK, so it's not much (though you can check out the magazine for more details). We're just kind of marveling at the feeling of being excited for a Tomb Raider game again.

Nice camera angle, pointed straight down into Lara's blouse. It's always about the tits with this game.

She's also twisted in an awkward way to allow for the rear end to make it into the shot... Don't lose site of the important stuff...

Man, how did we ever play games without footprints that get washed away by rain? That is trully next-gen.

So....we have to beat them with a stick to get the scores?

And yet they are the only gaming magazine with decent art, publishes post mortems, focuses on gaming culture, and actually speaks like a gamer instead of the 40 year old creepy guy in Dave & Busters trying desperately to fit in with your kids....
I can forgive their high scores considering.

I agree with you Fidlious. While sure, their ratings system may not be the best out there. The media in the game itself is some of the best. With great articles, and the best art filling nearly every page. I like Play magazine for those features.
Also, Lara is still my video game babe of choice. Right under are Kasumi and EVA. I loved EVA!

You mean overhyped with shitty controls? Let's hope they stray from the path ...

I liked the original controls as well, while they were a lot like a tank they also kind of felt free, like an open world in which you can do anything and the controls remain the same, I mean, in the new ones she can't jump real far or high up unless she is suppose to in that part, she runs around like is tethered to something and it takes almost no skill to perform actions since they are already pre-determined by the game. They are surely more realistic but I think they take away from the original feeling which the games created.

There are plenty of steaming hot 40 year old women. Of course, a pre-teen like you probably thinks 40 = lace doilies and rocking chairs.

Or 21 year olds like me with a sense of continuity think that maybe its time for momma Croft to settle down with Indiana and raise a litter of junior adventurers cause that biological clock is ticking

Wait didn't Lara died in Angel of Darkness or something?, how the hell sequels keep spawning?
Seriously I don't know I haven't played Tomb raider in years.
Also I thought Dora was Lara's Daughter.

I'm still working through TR Anniversary - talk about gorgeous. There's a cool, nostalgic feeling you get while revisiting all the old locations from the original, only with all new graphics and levels.
Can't wait for this one.

I want the new TR game to be closer to Anniversary than Legend. The driving seemed tacked on in Legend.
They should also not make it like uncharted, with gears style firefights. That type of game has its place. I always liked that the TR games were 85% platforming and 15% fighting. They should stick to that formular. As much as people need to try to compare the two, Uncharted is 15% platforming and 85% fighting. Quite different if you ask me.....
When they change the forumlar too much they essentially ruin the game. Angel of Darkness..anyone.
