Guitar Hero III gets rock 'n' roll patch
Woo! Good evening, internet! Welcome to the stage the new patch for Guitar Hero III on PS3 and Xbox 360, now, are you ready to rock? They're going to kick it off with "Improved Online Quick Match Results" and "Calibration Screen Improvements, Helping Users With High Lag AV Systems" and then one just for you Playstation 3 users: "The Co-Op Quickplay Mode." Finally, they're going to be closing with their new single: "Various Stability Improvements and Fixes." ... Hey, why doesn't anyone have their lighter out?... OK, so this patch isn't particularly rock 'n' roll. It doesn't wear a cool leather jacket or hassle nerds or boss around the rest of T-Birds. But it is practical, which is sort of cool too, isn't it? Maybe in a old-but-still-hip-English-professor sort of way? Guys? Where are you going?

C'mon Aspyr. You actually did a decent job with the PC version... now just make with the patches and DLC and I'm happy with you.

wheres my online coop career?
jack shaftoe @ Dec 15th 2007 12:09PM
Yeah, no kidding. I just got it a few days ago and was hella dissapointed with the matchmaking and no online coop career. At least fix it so that I can keep playing with a friend online without having to re-invite them to each match. It's almost 2008, for chrissakes!
Dread-not-naught @ Dec 15th 2007 11:06AM
My band has actually played with the band in the picture. I can't remember their name, it's the "Something Skanks." They have a really shitty Christmas album too.
why not the LS2/LS7? @ Dec 15th 2007 11:31AM
F 'em.

No RB Strat compatibility patch? Fuck you, RedOctane.
DCBlack @ Dec 15th 2007 2:56PM
And here that's what I thought it was going to be when a downloaded it. Oh well, back to hoping...

"Various Stability Improvements and Fixes" probably means "Removes all Les Paul/Xplorer support from Rock Band."

The link says the update is available now, but it's not showing up in Canada at least.

tyetheczar @ Dec 15th 2007 4:46PM

gh3 isnt incompatable with the strat, the strat was built to be a custom guitar, incompatable with gh3. gh3's guitar is compatable with rock band, what does that tell you?
jayeffaar @ Dec 16th 2007 7:09PM
Actually, you've got it the wrong way around. It's Rock Band that is compatIble with the GH3 guitar. There's nothing wrong or weird with Rock Band's guitar, but GH3 won't support it, and the compatibility problem lies with the game, not the guitar.
Leminnes @ Dec 15th 2007 8:59PM
Why do I find it completely illogical for them to be incapable of doing this on the Wii as well? There is a place to download stuff there. It's called the Wii Shop Channel... now, USE IT. God fucking damn it.
jeff @ Dec 15th 2007 11:23PM
where is the co-op quickplay option for xbox 360?? why do ps3 users get a patch with the option but not 360'ers?
jayeffaar @ Dec 16th 2007 7:06PM
It's in the last patch. 360 users already have it.
Jurassic @ Dec 16th 2007 1:05PM
What about rock band guitar compatibility?
ZeroCorpse @ Dec 16th 2007 10:23PM
This is more like the audio engineer who works his ass off to make your mediocre band sound like something decent, or the lighting director who makes your pasty face look cool instead of like the pale, crater-loaded surface of the moon.
