Who's having the best day ever? Nerds. That's who. Not only was their beloved NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams the belle of the new release ball, their spirits can now truly take flight with the news that Final Fantasy VII prequel Crisis Core is coming to American PSPs on March 25th. As you may already be aware, Square Enix's action RPG follows Zack while a part of SOLDIER as he meets Cloud, Sephiroth and others. With over 710,000 copies sold in Japan, we can't wait to get our hands on it.
We could try to do a better job of outlining where Crisis Core falls in a chronological sense in the FFVII mythology, but it's a little more effort than we're able to put forth on a Monday, so "before the PlayStation game" will have to suffice. Take your little brother's head out of the toilet and ask him, we're sure he'll be able to explain it to you.
I doubt that Crisis Core will ever see the light as a PS2 game, simply because it is a system mover and by the time it loses that power it might be better off as a downloadable PSN game
Actually, this seems sort of cool, but Square is really dragging the whole FF7 thing on. I liked the game, it was decent. I could go back and play it again and still probably enjoy it just as much as ever. But really, do we need a prequel, when are they just going to remake and revamp it for current-gen consoles.
That would be the ultimate fanservice in my eyes. That or make some new ips
I imported the game, and it is PHENOMENAL. It is a system seller for FF7 fans. The story doesn't feel like an after thought and combat is fun. Check it out.
I remember playing the FFVII demo on a Toys'r'us playstation back in the day. It seemed so revolutionary. So pretty. I bought it for my PC later and played it straight through.
The gameplay feels old now though. I hope the quality really is there in this game and people aren't just buying it for the name.
i have been waiting forever for this game. guess im still waiting but its nice to know when that waiting will end. this will definitely get me to use my PSP for actual gaming again (no disrespect to beats which is a very fun game lol).

Have you seen the Famitsu review?

Yeah, I think it's pretty solid.

I don't keep up with famitsu. I learned in the past that their opinion can vary wildly from my own.

The Squenix franchise nipples must be getting sore from the constant milking.
