Pretty cool, and by January it will be only one month away when Smash and Mario kart come out. So other than Mario Galaxy new Wii owners won't have missed much anyways.

Right. Except that you're completely incorrect. Yes. Your OPINION is incorrect. To say Galaxy is the only thing to play on Wii until Feb. or March is laughable, laughable like you in the mirror.

There's games out the yang for Wii, almost double the amount out on PS3, and I'm sure someone will find something in addition to Galaxy that they like. Especially someone just purchasing a Wii.

How can a person opinion be incorrect? If I say that to me the Wii had nothing spectacular to offer till Galaxy. Well then shut it and go play your glut of forced waggle PS2 ports.

Sure, there's games "out the yang" for the Wii... but outside of first party titles, there's little worth a damn due to these developer/publishers wanting to cash-in on the craze by just throwing gaudy-1st party mocked, should've been on the DS instead, and/or broken "waggle-ware" games... which is sad, because the console is fun to use, and deserves better. It's not like the third-party supporting publishers don't have memorable characters (MegaMan, Sonic, et al.)... Since the technology used in the Wii Remote & other accessories aren't new; it's hard to figure out why Nintendo doesn't seem to have difficulty, and yet they do.

Personally speaking, I wish Nintendo would also voice digust in false or misadvertised games too. For example, the blue control scheme insignia on the back of game cases on back. There's no real clarification on an exact number of players or controllers a game requires. Especially if the number is referring to *online* multiplayer, like in MEDAL OF HONOR2. It says 4 on the back, making assumption that there's a 4 player offline play functionality, but it actually means you can have multiple players *online*(up to 32). I wouldn't nitpick this so much if it wasn't for the fact of catching a hassle for returning/exchanging videogames due to stringent return policies at a lot of electronic retailers.

What a fun xmas morning some kids will have when they open this up - at least they'll be able to use the DVD case as some sort of action raft for a GI Joe, or whatever the devil kids play with nowadays.

This is why I will put the Grinch's theme on December 24th and sit outside of Gamestop selling the two consoles I bought, at a starting "bid" price of $600.

Ho ho ho. Merry Capitalism. >:)

What a Joke! Maybe after two years on the market you will finally be able to find them in stores. I take 360 any day over Wii and PS3.

I think the real joke is how the 360 has been out a full year before Wii and already has been surpassed by it in hardware sales. What was that about getting a head start on the competition? How about getting a quality product (i.e. Wii) out for the consumers instead.

Well, apparently there are millions of cattle out there who disagree with you, because ps3 and 360 controls are too confusing, and they dont like FPS's, or something. Hell I dont know.

That's because so many people have bought into the hype of the Wii. You have old people buying for the bowling, kids telling their parents they need it only because their friends have it, and so on. Also because of the fact that there is a shortage more people are inclined to believe that it is a must have item. The scarcity of the Wii has really helped drive its sales.

For me the 360 has much more to offer. Yes I own a Wii , but unfortunately outside of a few titles there is not much that I have enjoyed playing for the system. If you want to talk about quality talk about the lack of quality games that the Wii offers. Unfortunately Nintendo has no official licensing process and due to that and the low cost of development you have a large number of garbage titles. I would rather see a few solid games over a large amount of crappy games any day. Outside of a handful of first party titles and like 2 or 3 third party titles, what good games are available for the Wii?

Just so you don't call me a fanboy, I own a 360, Wii, and PS3 and have enjoyed playing all of them. I have just enjoyed playing the Wii less.

Nintendo actually has the most stringent licensing process of all 3 consoles makers, but it's not about quality, it's about keeping the Nintendo image kosher. Besides Manhunt, nothing too violent has managed to make it's way onto Nintendo consoles because of the licensing, which is kinda funny when you think of games like goldeneye, metroid, and even turok that have found success through Nintendo.

But i agree that Nintendo needs to increase the amount of it's 1st party titles, or find some more quality 3rd party ones, cause the offerings now and disappointing. i can really only beat zelda and play tennis so many times.

I will admit that there are some interesting titles for the Wii, but most of them is dumbed down for the general audience. The 360 has had it issues, but the lack of availablity of Wii's is just as bad in my opinion.

on the plus side, these systems are most likely not getting in the hands of ebay/scalpers considering the upfront charge and long wait window
which is a good thing

I don't care how big the IOU they give me is... I would not just give Gamestop $250 and trust them to get me a Wii before Jan. 25th. I've put $10 down on preorders there and they've fucked it up multiple times.

So let's see here...we have 2 reports, 18 and 25 vouchers that will be available, guaranteed to get you a Wii in the next month. That's probably the whole next month's shipment of Wiis, which brings up two scenarios:
first, people will be trying to get these vouchers as much as they are trying to get Wiis themselves. Really nothing different there. Second, in January, for those who did not buy in advance, Wiis will be even HARDER to find...

I'm just happy that I was able to get one this past weekend, even though it didn't really matter if I got it before Christmas...

My mom showed up at Gamestop in Palm Beach Gardens, FL this morning at 9am because she thought the rainchecks were for today although they told her she needed to come back tomorrow. They wrote her name down and told her to come back at 11am this morning because they were supposed to get some in stock. She showed up then and was first to get one.
