At least the warranty page isn't down. Then people would just get pissed.

We are excited to announce the brand new RockBand.com community site! We've migrated your existing community account and we are ready and waiting for you to log in (with your new password - see below for more information). What's new, you ask? A stack of new features. Beginning now, you can:

* Link your RockBand.com account to your Xbox Live gamertag or Playstation Network id to share your characters, bands, and high scores with your friends.

* Compare your high scores with the Rock Band community on the brand new Leaderboards!

* Make friends, write a blog, and post your pictures on your own personal RockBand.com page!

* Last but not least, the community forums that you've come to know and love return in all of their glory, with all of your posts intact!

Please be aware that during the re-launch we are importing your account info into the brand new system. You will be able to log in with your old username, but you have a new password.

I've been running back to the site every hour or so since last night, waiting for it to come back up. I hope it's the long-awaited full-on community site they've been working on. Can't wait to see what it can do. Really hope it's not just a false alarm - restoring from backup when someone tripped over a power cord or something.

I don't think they'd send out an email touting new features if they weren't coming.

I got Rock Band on day 1 for the PS3 and I have to wait until Christmas to get it. All I hope for is a working guitar.

If you got it on day 1, your guitar is probably a bad one. Sorry man, that's the way it is. I and 2 of my friends got it day 1 for PS3 and we all replaced our controllers already.

At least EA makes it painless.

What went wrong with your set that you needed to return it? I know you can fix the strum bar issue yourself so if mine has that problem then i'm just going to perform a little DIY instead of not having it all Christmas.

Hey, something I'm curious about - are the PS3 instruments compatible with the 360 and vice-versa? My friend is getting the PS3 version, and it'd be nice to be able to use his guitar on my 360.

On the one hand, I'm hopeful because they're all USB. On the other hand, I really doubt they didn't put something in them that stops them from being cross-platform compatible :(

The instruments aren't cross platform (although the PS3 and PS2 instruments are both the same). Harmonix had wanted to make the instruments universally compatible, but Microsoft and Sony wouldn't go for it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought this would be the case. I went to the gamefaqs message board to try and dig around while I was waiting for a response here, but was bombarded with threads like "rate teh band name above you!" and "shuld I get tihs or CSI?!"
