I get why this is *supposed* to be funny. It just isn't. Amateurishly bad, and not in a charm-enhancing Troma sort of way.

Hopefully the editors of this site will make a resolution this coming year to stop posting so much filler to this site. Less Etsy spam and bland attempts at whimsy, more actual Wii news.

So much filler to the site? It's the end of 2007, we're doing recap posts, but sorry if we don't want to do boring lists. We'd rather try to be original and unique. Sorry if you didn't think the post was funny ...

And, checking so far today, we posted 6 stories (including this one). 2 were for new screens, 1 was a sale, 1 was our morning discussion topic, 1 was Eric's post here and 1 was news about Smash Bros. What, you don't want variety?

Let's look at yesterday. We had 16 posts. 1 was a weekly recap, we had 6 news stories, a couple of features, some posts about new screens and a pretty big rumor. I think our coverage is pretty varied and appropriate. If you want us to do something more or differently, let us know:

Recaps and retrospectives are just as boring and atavistic as list-postings. With searchable archives at everyone's fingertips they are only really useful to content-starved blog editors as filler. IMHO, of course.

I'm indifferent towards this post, I love this site, and I hated Zack & Wiki. Yes, hated. Of course it sold poorly. It's a complicated point and click game (I was all for it in concept) and yet it's full of characters and dialog that are aimed at the average 6 year old. Does that make any goddamn sense to you? How about next we design an unbelievably awesome text based adventure game that revolves around Barney the Dinosaur, so we can complain about how ingenious and engaging the puzzles in the game are, and yet, for "some strange reason", it's not selling well. When a complicated and challenging game looks and reads like a second rate Nick Jr. cartoon, don't expect it to break any sales records. Unless you count obtaining 100% market share in the Autistic gamer demagraphic as a success.

Flamers need to get a life. It's so middle school. Yes, so are "Your mom" jokes, but they are an attempt at humor to cheer us up, not drag someone down to make yourself feel better.

The staff of nintendowiifanboy.com were hired not just for their ability to skim the Internet and tap sources for information, but also for their creative writing skills. And they are the ones with the jobs, be they "Troma" like or whatever.

For what the post was, I got the joke. I chuckled a little (and admittingly "guffawed" at Mrs. Caoili's contributions). It was a pleasant pause in my day on reflection of the games of the year past with some good humor thrown in (I still would've like Good Humor better, but until they can figure out a way to pass me an ice cream over the Internet, I'll happily take this).

If you want static, flat gaming info, go to IGN. I come here for the writing.

Were I to call you a weak-kneed, passive-aggressive girly-boy for replying indirectly to my post while at the same time tailoring your response around specific elements of mine, *that* would be a flame. There's a difference between expressing a negative opinion forthrightly and insulting someone for the sake of insult.

"If you want static, flat gaming info, go to IGN."

False dilemma.

Were I to call you an ego-maniacal chronic masturbator for focusing more on mii rather than the wii in your comments, that might also be considered flame, but yes, sake of insult considered.

You're quite egotistical to think that you're the only reason or even the main reason I responded. There were several others piling on, as well (with plenty of flame). If you didn't flame, then don't assume everything is about you. In life, it'll help you in the long run.

Also, I am not 466c616d65. I'm happy to put my name on anything I write.

I'm not bothered by the "your mom" theme, but this post just fail to be funny. (in my opinion of course, but variety is important. so keep things like this coming)
thanks for all the laughs in this year wiifanboy!

(Yes, I don't speak English so well) Cheers from Brasil
