Rainbow Six Vegas 2 to feature 'more Vegas'
"Talk to the hand!" has been the sentiment of the two Rainbow Six Vegas 2 teaser trailers released thus far, and while Ubisoft still isn't ready to show us the game, the publisher is ready to talk. A smattering of gameplay details was disclosed today, confirming what the game title already reveals: we're in for more Rainbow Six Vegas. More weapons, more armor, mo' better AI, more multiplayer and, of course, "more Vegas."
As the Tom Clancy franchises continue along the 'EA Sports trajectory,' Vegas 2 will see its most ambitious seasonal tweaks in the form ofimproved "vastly improved" co-op play (a jump-in/jump-out campaign) and single-player expansion of the first game's multiplayer progression system (offline experience points). Anyone else convinced that the Ubisoft Montreal devs could code this game in their sleep?
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is being developed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows, and is currently scheduled for a March 2008 release.

I hope this along with GRAW 2 is the end of this sequel cash-in trend for them. although im sure it'll be a great game, like vegas 1 and GRAW 1-2.

I'm more excited about this game than any game that game out this holiday season but then again most of my online gaming still goes to the first R6:Vegas
Po0py @ Dec 20th 2007 3:43PM
Right now it looks like it's nothing more than an expansion pack.
pantera6 @ Dec 20th 2007 3:45PM
well i hopre they still bring out rainbow6 games, its just a need in the market.
they need to do something real special to compare with call off duty 4 though.
multiplayer should also be faster paced aswell and stop blobbing around like a tree

what's with these developers releasing news after the cat's out of the bag? this is the cover story on OXM this month which I got in the mail almost two weeks ago i think... can't these guys synch up?
Faisal @ Dec 20th 2007 4:11PM
more Vegas huh? That means we get to play as hot strippers who shoot bullets all over the place while there boobs jiggle?
embassy @ Dec 20th 2007 4:31PM
i think team ninja's working on that game.
Gangsta Smurf @ Dec 20th 2007 4:43PM
Crysis physics engine will go great with that.
Geist @ Dec 21st 2007 3:57AM
Smurf: Have you seen some of the issues with the Crysis engine? I'd personally rather not see boobs overlapping with faces and spinning wildly, killing anything they touch.

Rumors are saying that is really is little more than an expansion pack. I can't imagine why they'd do the same city twice otherwise =/
I'd like a new setting, and for the gameplay to return to it's Rainbow Six roots, but I guess that isn't going to happen.
Pete @ Dec 20th 2007 4:50PM
Um ok, where did you read that? All indications are that it is a full game like GRAW2.
Pete @ Dec 20th 2007 4:46PM
More Rainbow Six Vegas? Fine by me! I don't think I will ever get sick of Vegas as a setting, especially a fictional version of Vegas. There is an endless amount of wild casino theming possibilities, hotel floorplans and amenities, etc...nothing is too outrageous. In one city you can a hotel with a zoo, another with an indoor amusement park, shopping malls, movie theaters, restaurants and then over-the-top theme the hell out of everything. Seriously, from a level-designers perspective, it is really perfect when you think about it since they can do almost anything and it will be believable in this setting.
roxxxo @ Dec 20th 2007 5:18PM
hell yeah
i loved r6v, even though they're still in vegas, i hope it's a full game, as long as the first one
Marty @ Dec 20th 2007 4:50PM
Without this confirmation, I could have only assumed that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 would feature less Vegas. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Geist @ Dec 21st 2007 3:58AM
I was expecting more Russia-based levels. I mean, who wouldn't with a name like that?
pantera6 @ Dec 20th 2007 6:00PM
well rb6v wasn't entirley vegas, you have the trainyard, the dam, which is already 2out of the 7missions was it? then there was the fact that dantes casino was a constuction yard really (with a small amount of casino bit)
roxxxo @ Dec 20th 2007 9:06PM
which is what kept that game interesting
i'm guessing they'll do something similar for the 2nd one
Geist @ Dec 21st 2007 3:57AM
Oh, more Vegas? Damn. When am I going to get my Rainbow Six Podunk?
