Rock Band site back up with new community features
The Rock Band community page has been updated as promised and now includes a copious amount of so-called Web 2.0 features - friends list, a personal blog, the ability to link your Xbox Live gamertag or PlayStation Network account to share your Rock and Roll lifestyle with the world around you. The forums, as was stated in the email sent out, seem to remain intact. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we can take our in-game character and make images out of them.
Once you get your account set up, go ahead and share it below, and let Joystiq know just how well you play the (virtual) drums.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

It'd be great if this shit didn't keep crashing on me.

Linked my gamertag to it, and it's kinda nice. I wish I could pick and choose which characters of mine are publicly displayed, as I have some throwaways. And whenever I try to bring up my band profile, it times out.

They are getting really hammered... might be time to buy some new servers!

Dammit. The account linking for XBL uses Port 8000 for some stupid reason - I won't be able to link up until I get home.

Yep, this will be great once it's stable, but the leaderboard is mostly just timing out right now...

The website is CRAWLING, guess they weren't expecting this much traffic.

Now why do they think we want a blog or freaking pictures? Bungie got this one right with their community site; I want to see pictures of my characters or of my fake little band. Hell, even Activision did better on this, letting me see game statistics. Companies need to stop thinking they're facebook and actually provide useful information.

Very much agree. Having pictures of my band members would be awesome, and I had just assumed there would be song stats on the site.

What are people's names on there? Mine's baby_sea_tuna.

I guess "back up" is a relative term. I can't to anything without getting server errors. Thanks for linking to the rockers_home page and not their annoying homepage that resizes my damn browser and takes 10 minutes to load.

Yup, same page as yesterday.
