New Smash Bros. Brawl intro video looks amazing

We were watching this intro video to the new Super Smash Bros. Brawl adventure mode "The Subspace Emissary" when something occurred to us: Regardless of your feelings about Wii, if this video doesn't move something inside of you, then you're dead inside. It's as simple as that. It either jams a pickaxe into that carapace you call a heart and finds a deep, rich vein of nostalgia or you're a vampire. A mean vampire.

How about the part where the Arwing -- wait, you know what? We don't want to ruin anything for you. Just watch above and discuss below. We'll leave you to it.

aside from mario and maybe metroid.. I disagree. there hasn't exactly been a lot of true gaming going on on the wii. more like a lot of waiting for something good to play. my 360 has been playing non stop though.

Smash Bros is going to be amazing. Can't wait.

Anyway Super Smash Brothers Brawl is the obviously the killer app of the Wii but I have to say that this trailer doesn't impress me I mean is mostly a collage between all the previous trailers with what 40% new material?

Also where the **** are Sonic, Captain Falcon and Snake?

There are MANY great games for the Wii.

Zelda Twilight Princess, Metorid Prime 3 Corruuption, Super Mario Galaxy, Fire Emblem: Raident Dawn, Battalion Wars 2, Super Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, Zack and Wiki, Warioware and soon Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Anyone who says the Wii doesn't have 'hardcore' games, really doesnt know what they are talking about.

However that appeals to a lot of people, and I'm not going to reproach them for that. However, some people are reproaching me for not liking it. I think somebody who didn't like Paper Mario because it was text-driven wouldn't be missing the point, they'd be besides the point.

Ethan has the right idea. Like it for the stages, mechanics and so on, instead of liking it just because it has a bunch of characters from other games. I don't like the stages or mechanics so I just don't get what I want in a fighter out of Smash Bros. The characters aren't going to turn that around for me.

Nintendo takes SB, as one of their core games, pretty seriously and I think it diminishes the importance of all the hard work (and delays) Nintendo was willing to undertake for this game if you only play it to go "ZOMG Link fighting Bowser fapfapfapfapfapfap".

I hate the fucking game and I'm still impressed by the work that goes into it.

I don't play smash brothers because of the characters. It really has the best mechanics and the most fun of any fighting game I've played. Powerstone is close.

I've played Melee and it was fun, but I preferred DOA or Tekken. Brawl will obviously have more polish, and so could change my mind, but I'll have to play it first.

As for characters, none of them will be presented in a particularly deep fashion, their value is in what they represent in heritage. I'd be more interested if I could see George Stobbart face off against Phoenix Wright, because while they were fantastic characters in pretty good games, Brawl's roster is made of the mere necessary self-representation, but in universally fantastic games. It depends on what it means to you.

And my avatar? I liked the pokemon cartoon, there's the whole mario hat meme, so I combined the two. It was Kyle Hyde in a mario hat last week actually.

Haha, same here. I used to be into Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Now I don't care as it's all Smash Bros. Underneath it all it's so balanced, so many unlockables and customisation for replayability. Just genius.

No it doesn't Confirm Rayquaza as playable. That's a level in the advendture mode and Rayquaza is a boss, i'd guess. That scene is available in a longer form somewhere else on the site. ust look under adventure mode in game modes.

To ESC: You are wrong there buddy. It won't be an assist trophy, as Rayquaza is a pokemon, and pokemon only come out on Pokeballs.

Assist trophies, on the other hand, are items where assist characters only come out from.

For the ones who don't want to read much...
Assist Trophies= No pokemon will come out of them, only ACs.
Pokeballs= No ACs will come out of them, only pokemon.

In the end, Rayquaza might end up supporting you if it comes out of a Pokeball you throw, but in what way? Most likely by using Outrage, but who knows how it will help in the end.
