Silent Hill should be there , and so should Crush and Ratchet and Clank ... still IMO the best game of the year is Logans Shadow , so at least its there :)

Yeah I'm voting for Dead head Fred or Silent Hill for Game of the Year. Castlevania also should have been nominated for this list, as it looks like this list is just Best Strategy + Beats and Logan Shadow. I would have removed FFT, JDA, and Socom(not my tastes) to make room for the games I've listed above.

From someone who doesn't care about SRPGs or JRPGS, I agree.

What I would pick Disgaea, hands down, but SOCOM looks hot, were the controls good in it?

Jeanne d'Arc. Easily the best game on the list, IMO. Please, don't pick one of the ports. Yeah, they're good games, but that'll just be adding fuel to the proverbial fire in the war between DS and PSP fanboys.

Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow has to win. It's simply the best game in 2007. The rest are strategy games, and some of those are remakes. I think the best original game was Logan's Shadow. Those other strategy games are great, don't get me wrong, but pulling off a strong third person shooter on the PSP was amazing. Strategy games weren't as restricted and hard to deal with as a shooter, (i.e. No 2nd analog stick.) so that's why I think Logan's Shadow should win.

Hey Andrew - looks like I'm not the only one who thought Silent Hill was considerably better than you guys did. :p

I agree SH should be on the list, but with Jeanne actually taking the award.

Jeanne d'Arc. It has an incredible story, and it perfects the genre. FFT is an amazing game, and Disgaea is too, but they just ARE their genre. Jeanne d'Arc is the pinnacle of the SRPG, and should be appreciated for accomplishing this--a cross platform feat--on a handheld.

Also, Disgaea and FFT are ports of old games. Dont take me wrong, though. SF and SOCOM are both excellent games, but you don't really feel much passion come out in them. In Jeanne, it feels like Level-5 really put in a piece of their collective soul.

(a little story: when I go to the store and see Jeanne for 29.99, I'm glad that I bought it for 39.99. Level-5 deserves my money, and this award.)

Jeanne D'Arc was released at 29.99, not 39.99. So if you paid 39.99, you got taken. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ryan, you are quite correct. Any amount over 29.99 all goes to the store that sold it to him, not the developers or publishers.

CRUSH! I mean, come on. Beats was good but NOT better than Crush. HECK, even Lumines II was better than HALF those games. Which on of you is choosing random games?!

None of these categories have been true to the games that were ACTUALLY GREAT! Did you guys forget all about every game that was released before July?

Someone certainly likes their strategy games, eh?

That being said, I did actually like SOCOM quite a bit, and Logan's Shadow as well. Still, Crush gets my vote. That game was great.

Jeanne D'Arc gets my vote. It reset the standard for the genre and it made me glad I bought a PSP in the first place. It has its faults, but it's very enjoyable and it's exclusive to the system.

I can't get with giving a port the best of the year, and Beats is about as complicated as a game of checkers. There's not a lot of "game" there, if you know what I mean. That said, I have not played Logan's Shadow. The learning curve looks practically vertical, so I've been afeared.

Out of all of these it's........Syphon Filter. The way they described it was a dead giveaway.

And I'm happy with the decision. Fantastic game, and the controls aren't that difficult to learn!

I HATE Logan's Shadow. It should've had a much simpler control scheme, like the one from the PS1 games.
