Today's angriest viral video: Judd Apatow, Rock Band and backlash
Okay, so the point of the Funny Or Die-hosted video "Backlash" isn't gaming-centric, per se, but it does center around various Judd Apatow alum and cast members of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story playing the PlayStation 3 version of Rock Band together. Watch Justin Long sing, Jonah and Hill and Paul Rudd play the strings and Craig Robinson on drums. The Rock Band focus goes away once they start plugging their various projects, leading Robinson to suddenly realize he's part of a shameless viral marketing campaign and lashes out at Judd Apatow. For fan's of the director-producer's movies, the video is hilarious and we don't want to spoil it, so check it out yourself after the break. (Warning: NSFW)

Your avatar makes that comment even better.
Stephen Jackson @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:18AM
that...was awsome
Tina Tran @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:20AM
That was funny, too bad they weren't really playing the game...or at least the shots of the game they put in there.
pwnetheus @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:27AM
=)
ThornedVenom @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:54AM
Didn't find it funny. So I voted "DIE" in the end and got burninated.
Judd @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:56AM
The interesting thing is that with all the Jew comments, Craig Robinson is actually wearing an Israeli Defense Force t-shirt.
Delgado @ Dec 24th 2007 2:24AM
Speaking of t-shirts, Badass Cinema shirt FTW.
Yuccadude @ Dec 22nd 2007 2:09AM
I didn't know that a Mac could sing...
News to me.
Geist @ Dec 22nd 2007 4:19AM
I'm more surprised that a Mac can play games.
Orangecoke @ Dec 22nd 2007 11:17AM
Nice, Geist! :)

guidedbyvoip @ Dec 22nd 2007 5:58AM
not to be a downer, but it sucked. really.
MadMup @ Dec 22nd 2007 7:36AM
The best part was the "Mortal Kombat!" yelling.
Duscrom @ Dec 22nd 2007 9:03AM
See, that wasn't funny. Reminded me of a crappy version of the "You know how I know your gay?" part from 40 year old virgin. I did spy the MacBook Pro on the desk Judd was hiding under... And... Justin Long i will never be able to see for more then a smarmy douche.
Myth @ Dec 22nd 2007 1:13PM
Duscrom,
He did have one good movie role...in Jeepers Creepers. Can't be a smarmy asshat or hock an Apple product without a tongue (or skin).
Korova @ Dec 22nd 2007 10:38AM
Marketing that laughs at itself for being marketing is not funny and still is marketing. God, is there any place in the world that is not a market. Sierra Club! Where are your?
fawazr @ Dec 23rd 2007 8:54AM
Yes, Sierra Club, save us from viral ads with your proposals for forced eugenics and the armed appropriation of land from middle class Americans. As if tree-huggers didn't have self-serving interests too.
Orangecoke @ Dec 22nd 2007 11:18AM
It was funny until the chase part I think, could have ended it around there.
timnc @ Dec 22nd 2007 12:04PM
I LOLed
Too bad they had to buy 2 full sets of Rock Band to pull that off :p
crXss @ Dec 22nd 2007 12:52PM
secretly that was a promotion for GarageBand too
markhill66 @ Dec 22nd 2007 4:52PM
Proper use of the term "per se." Good job, Ross.
obo @ Dec 23rd 2007 5:20PM
Wow, hell of a backlash:
"The latest from the Judd Apatow comedy machine, Sony’s “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” was a surprise bomb, taking in just $4.1 million despite good reviews praising its no-holds-barred humor and John C. Reilly’s giddy performance."
