New games this week: Santa hates you edition

You know what Santa's bringing to you and all the other good gentile/agnostic/festive atheist boys and girls this year? Nope, neither do we, because that's a Christmas miracle surprise, and the very knowing of that secret is a crime against Lorthos, the god of the Yule.
But we do know what Santa's bringing to all the good/evil/very evil retailers this Christmas Day: Absolutely nothing. Squat. Nada. Zilch-o. Good thing they're selling those Mario-themed stockings, because it will be a great place to put their fat lump of coal.
Just remember the oldest Christmas adage, kids: Santa giveth and Santa taketh away.

'eh, that's not a bad thing to have no games this week. Plenty of other crap to play. I was at Toys R Us last night and oh my god it was a freaking mad house. Software publishers ought to be happy when they see December sales data!

I saw Kotaku's post on this, it looks like there were two games released... for Mac. Though, if you game on a Mac...

No worries. I have a Mario Galaxy under the tree, and today is great to catch up on Super Mario World on VC, so lets not worry.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good Nights (or any other game you will be getting tomorrow - see what I did there, eh!).

Merry Christmas,A very happy Hanukkah,A super special awesome Kuanza and a very honorable Ramadan to everyone.
(See is a lot shorter when you simply say Happy holiday)
iofthestorm @ Dec 24th 2007 2:10PM
Hehe, thanks for the greeting but on behalf of muslims reading joystiq Ramadan was in October... but we did have Eid al-adha last week. The thing is, the Islamic calendar is lunar so holidays move around in the solar calendar. Anyway, it's the thought that counts I guess. I'm actually exercising restraint and not getting any new games except some VC games because I've got a somewhat large list of games I need to finish before I get any new ones. I am going to go grab a $20 Wii card and buy Starfox and Mario 64 though, because I never had an N64 and always loved playing those games at friends' houses.

frozengod @ Dec 24th 2007 4:45PM
There are already plenty of games I have to play anyway.
And my pals don't need you Santa!
I am giving the UR R MR GAY game to one of my friends, along with a faulty, non original game cube memory card, and the Freddie Mercury tribute DVD.
His brother gets those pretty Twilight Princess action figures (and if all is well a hp-1 barracuda headphone for his PC gaming delight - it should have been TF2 stuff, but they apparently don't ship to Brazil :[ ), and the live at Montreaux Jamiroquai DVD.
Ah, almost forgot, those two will also get their very own gaming-related-custom-made-coffee mugs with their faces printed on the bottom outside, and I glued my hands to include on the gift package those pretty Mario Bros. papercraft stages and a (also papercraft) Weighted Comapanion Cube I saw here on Joystiq some time ago (thank you Joystiq for the clues!).
Another friend is getting The Orange Box.
Happy for everyone!
frozengod @ Dec 24th 2007 4:47PM
Hum... damn you tags! It should read Happy -insert the name of your favorite holyday here- for everyone!
BPM - The 3rd Strike @ Dec 24th 2007 4:51PM
NO TAGS FOR YOU.
Micah @ Dec 24th 2007 4:53PM
Well, duh, of course there's no new releases. It'd be stupid to release new games the week of Christmas, as most people have already bought gifts. It'd be one of the worst marketing blunders a company could do.
Simstim @ Dec 24th 2007 5:04PM
That is one sinister looking Santa
wickedpheonix @ Dec 24th 2007 6:04PM
Well... I guess the N+ game could be certified this week and released on XBLA. Nothing's guaranteed though...
