Smallville's Kristin Kreuk to play Chun Li in new Street Fighter flick

ComingSoon.net reports that the Smallville star has signed on to star in Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, the live-action adaptation of Capcom's classic fighting franchise. Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, 20th Century Fox will be distributing the film, which begins filming in Thailand next March. Will Kreuk be able to fill Chun-Li's tiny shoes? And, more importantly, does she know how to perform the Hyakuretsu Kyaku? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Kristin Kreuk is stunningly beautiful. She is perfect for the role. If you think about it, she does look a lot like the pics of chun-li, and who cares if she's not 100% asian, it would be too typical to have a full asian playing chun-li. And why do people keep having a go at her thighs... she's absolutely perfect, i wouldn't change anything about her.

It's easy:
Originality does not always equal money in the bank.
It's the same reason why book publishers keep putting out Harry Potter wannabe's, why music producers keep pumping out bands that sound like Fall out Boy, and why big name gaming publishers keep on putting out sequel after sequel after prequel after sequel. It's because they know that they'll make money.
That's sadly how it works.

I think shes a good choice. Shes always doing some sort of karate kicks and whatnot on smallville, so its not hard to picture her as chun-li

how can jessica biel play chun-li when chun-li is chinese? kk is perfect for the role. as for not having the body parts for chun li, look how they padded up angelina j. in the first lara croft. did anyone actually think angelina's breasts were that huge? but i do agree that kk will have to work out like hell to bulk up.

Ooh! Is she gonna be really annoying in the movie? Will she date Guile on and off for seven years, always trying to find out his secrets all the while harboring her own? Will she have an off-screen aunt that will be mentioned only to work her dirty deeds? Why doesn't Hollywood use Asian actors for this movie(even though it makes fucking perfect sense)?
Majority of people would rather see well known actors rather than unknown foreign actors, even if the latter would make more sense.
I mean look at the DBZ movie and tell me that's not the case.
