My girlfriend got it for me, knowing I'm an ocean creatures fan, and we've spent some evenings exploring around. The best thing was when we started realizing we could identify some of the fish in the documentaries we watch.

It's good for a couple of hours of cuddle-time with your partner a week. For that, it's well worth the money. Much cheaper than a movie and popcorn.

I can't help but think it's going to go the way of Ecco the Dolphin, lulling you into a false sense of security before unleashing the creepy under-water alien space ship there to destroy the world!

For Chris or anyone else who's played it... Would Endless Ocean be a good 'game' to have turned on at a family party where people can just pick up the controls and swim around for a while and then pass it off?

Basically I'm trying to incorporate Wii mini-games and non-traditionals like guitar hero into the party scene to add some flavor.

man, it's a damn shame that that's what the term "video games" brings to mind. for me, it's games like mario and sonic. i don't really think of all the FPS/urban crime simulators as video games.

I bought this for my five year old son and he absolutely loves it - everything from finding new fish, to filling the aquarium, and teaching the dolphin he has named new tricks. I help with reading some of the explanations, but otherwise he copes fine on his own. Hopefully he's learning a bit about sea life as well.

I've had a go on my own, and it's definitely something I'd go back to. It is different from a lot of games out there though, and I can see how it wouldn't appeal to some.
