So how does a WiiWare title have better graphics than 95% of "actual" Wii games?

If this game moves to Disc format it will be solely due to Nintendo's inability to work with Square on a proper means of storage for Wii Ware titles.....

But I look forward to "optional" USB hard drive and/or SD Card support for these things. It is bound to happen. I mean ask yourself: can you imagine Wii with no external storage formats 3 years from now? No way. I even expect Wiis a year from now to ship with 1 GB of internal flash memory.

Has Square/Nintendo confirmed the size of this game? Or price for that matter?

I'll buy it, that's for sure, but I'm worried: 5 dollars for NES games, 10 (or 12) for 64 games. How much for a current-gem astonishing looking FF?

what some of the above posters fail to realize is requiring blar blart blar gb of hardrive simply isnt required nintendo are compresion masters

res evil 2 ps1 2xcds////res evil 2 n64 a single 64mb cart hmmmmmm whos the memory useage master

twilight princes gamecube HUGE GAME it got sqeezed onto a single disc

40mb is plenty if you compress currectly
squre could be rendering at half 480p and upscaling to 480p and compressing the shite out of data and graphics as long as you filter AA and not compress to far you get amasing visuals

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYONE ABOVE IF A WIIWARE GAME CAN LOK LIKE THAT WERES THE EXCUSES ON ACCUAL WII GAMES

If by "compression masters" you mean

-limited texture set
-midi generated music
-little to no recorded voice acting
-reduced quality or alternative FMVs

Then yes.

I wonder if it is possible for Nintendo to stream something like this over the web, rather than storing it locally.

funny gamecube had no compression issues whats sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo EVER it ran exactly the same as wii version graphicly and sound wise the only differance was cube was 4;3 scren and interlace the wii version was widescren and pro scan

and if gamecubes disc size was a issue please explane hoe factor 5 put rogue sq 3 a 2 player version of rogue sqode 2 pro logic 2x 7.1 surruod sound loads of fmvs and extras on a single disc with genuine high qoality pro logic 2x 7.1 no isues surround sound

above post goooooo educate ones self

your in a dream world invented by marketing you believe a hardrive is high tech wen infact its old 50s tech you live in a dream world were you need 2gig of ram to play a game

n64s res 2 had better graphics than the ps1 version fact EXPLAIN THAT ONE DUM NUTS

oh and how funny wen computer science experts were discussoing next gen visuals at a set 480p the all agreed with the right system only 80mb of ram would be required it then turns out wii has 88mb plus catch funny how fact cancels out pc noncence........

next yull say pro logic 2 aint surroud sound or wiis disc aint big enough for next gen games

you need to see past the smoke and mirrors my freind

These graphics look very similar to the GameCube graphics.. And, as other people say, it still looks better than most Wii games! So I'm not complaining! But Square Enix do have a reputation to live up to. Awesome-tastic.
