Can't afford to buy yourself a Wii? Wish one into existence! It seemed to work okay for Christine and Justin at Wants for Sale. Their site is a glorified wishlist in which they sell paintings of things they want for the exact price of the item depicted.
Their postmodern art did indeed net them the $270.92 required to buy a Wii in New York, and a lucky buyer has a memento of the time they bought a Wii for some strangers. Other items drawn to life include: one month's rent, a new hairstyle, and "to hear a good joke" (which required no financial outlay).
Seeing Christine and Justin's success, and never wanting to miss a good bandwagon, we're now planning to start a business in which we describe their paintings in exchange for the paintings' cash value. Then we'll use the proceeds to buy some paintings.
