What's the best approach for telling the community your patch isn't coming out this year? If you're Blizzard, you can try responding to a YouTube rant about an absent WarCraft III patch. And you can do it by trying to rap. We applaud the effort, but the "rhyming" verses make us cringe. Video embedded after the break.[Thanks, Medievaldragon]

but yes, bad rap is bad. go figure
(can't spell crap without rap!)
Also, some rap is great, some not. Just like rock, internet blog commenters and things in general. I think you are being unreasonably categorical.
And you can't spell crock without rock or pop without pope, whats your point? Way to generalize though.
As for this video, very creative. Even if it's not the best rap i've ever heard, it's great seeing devs with sense of humors and there needs to be more communication with developers and the fans and this is a great showing for Blizzard even though I don't play any of their games, good on them!
Yes, however singing requires something which is absent in rap aside from the odd chorus; pitch variation. And when i say "the odd chorus" i mean that, on average, a chorus in a rap song is usually amongst the most simple melody ever produced by mankind. Besides, for music that's all about the words they're hardly expressing the depths of human emotion, are they?
Oh and bad song choice, even the original was crap as far as I'm concered. Oh and rap (and crunk) ftw!
*these painkillers are kicking in*
i guess my question is.....why is he wasting time writing rhymes when he could be working on the patch?

All I hear is a parody/re-work of a Dido song, with a voice-over in between from the guy the song is about. I guess talking is rapping, in the sense that Bill Cosby says to his song "Hey, Theo! Sit down with me for a sec, we gotta rap about how you're doing in school." E.g., talking. So, if writing new words to a pop song and adding a spoken word part is rap, perhaps we can call any shitty music that uses instruments punk, alt *and* indie rock?
Nor is this hip-hop.
Rap music involves rapping. Way too many people seem to think that rap, rock, punk, and pop music involves a catchy loop with people talking over it. What distinguishes one from the other in their minds is beyond me.
