With years of planting and kicking bombs, exploding walls, and collecting power ups under his belt, it's easy to think that Hudson's iconic Bomberman's particular shtick has been throughly explored. Not so, says Hudson big cheese John Greiner, who notes that the company has "lots more planned" for the Bomberman franchise in the coming year. This is on top of the already announced Bomberman Land titles coming in January, as well as a newly kicked off New Year's contest over XBLA's Bomberman Live. While Hudson has not shed light on its plans for the portly pyromaniac, we assume that the company will not endeavor to reinvent the wheel, as such a move would be unheard of in Hudson's history.

The only thing missing from those titles are those nifty little kangaroo guys. Most fun I've ever had was with those things.

The Zelda hybrid was also quite well done imo..

Either Saturn Bomberman or Super Bomberman 2 with an online mode for 400 points with no add-ons, etc. would be infinitely better.

I would like to see another made in the mode of Bomberman 64, it was different, but it was as good as other Bomberman games, and actually did the single-player mode right

CONFIRMED 2008

Hmmm... y'know what comes out in 2008? Brawl! OMG! Bomberman confirmed! LOLZJK

Also, make the game free or reduce the price to 400 points. Hudson would still make a profit off the bazillion add-on packs they have out.
However, don't make anything new for consoles. The bomberman franchise needs to stay on marketplaces/ portable systems, because it doesn't have enough for a console release. Instead, it could be a model that other classic, but now troubled, franchises could look to (cough... sonic)
Although a disc-release of Bomberman Live and some packs could boost the game's online life...

What was everyone's fav in the series? For me it was Super Bomberman 5 for Super Famicom, Bomberman World for PS1 and then Bomberman Online for Dreamcast. I haven't played Saturn Bomberman, but I heard that one was one of the very best as well.
Worst one I've played is Bomberman 64... what a disgrace to the series.

Less so on the n64 versions and later, but it was fun while all that lasted until friends move away and on to other console systems :|

WARNING! A CHALLENGER APPROACHES!!
Bomberman!
(I think his games have been at least innovative and creative enough to make him a character in Brawl, oy.)
His attacks would involve bombs making physically impossible cross-shaped explosions.
