What the heck, I haven't been posting much lately but happy new year 2 all.

Especially to you Fernando. You're like that embarassing cousin that you respect but sometimes you're like 'man am I really related to them'. In any case cheers from a fellow wii supporter.

My only question is if these racing games are actually seperate games from one another. I know if PSX's shovelware days, there were five different games released with the same tracks and such, just the vehicles were swapped. DS got a similar treatment as well. The surest sign is these games being released so close to one another.

Not exactly. PS2 had a greater variety of GOOD games. That's the difference. I mean, I've had the system for over a year and still haven't breached 10 games. To give reference, PS3 is at 17, DS is at 38, PSP is at 42, and 360 is at 32.

I really think the Nintendo seal of Quality needs to come back. This is starting to look downright depressing.

The DS started in the same way as the Wii... now look at the DS... every month we get a bunch of high quality games.

We do? Every month, you say? So that's why I only added 2 games this holiday season to that lineup and the third is due in the mail today from an import shop...

I mean, I enjoy my DS but to say a bunch of high quality games each month? God I'm bored.... DAMMIT UPS MAN! COME HERE WITH MY PLAY-ASIA ORDER!

I really do think the wii is going to end up exactly like the gamecube game wise. Nothing worth playing except for the 3 Nintendo games that come out every year.

It's totally Gamecube 2.0.

I said this months ago and will say it again.

The only company that will get rich off Wii is Nintendo.

Most 3rd party games are crap. And they're selling like crap. And for those of us who are choosy about games, we have very few (like sheppy said), and virtually all by Nintendo.

It's ironic, of the 3 current consoles, the Wii is the one that really you need to know MOST to get a good experience from. I mean any parent looking to buy their kids Wii stuff should really go to EB and ask the guy behind the counter what's good instead of just going to Target and buying a random title by which cover looks good.

DS has a lot of great games every month? Not that I noticed.

You really need to know the LEAST about the wii to get a good experience. All you have to do is buy the console to get Wiisports, and that's the only game most people want.

And stop judging a console by its worst games. You don't do that for any other console.

well if we judge the wii off its good titles we only have about 3 or 4 to go off of, and no i'm being serious.

Face it folks, every system has thier fair share of crap ass titles. Does it matter who has more? Not really. I wonder why the Wii gets more shit titles than other consoles? Maybe because it's selling, and it has a more diverse ownership base? Could that be it?

Remember that most will think these titles suck, and some will play the shit out of them. Does it really bother you that much?

Wii's high count of shovelware is due to how well it's selling and the fact it's easier to develop for (i.e. port your crappy PS2 games to it for crappy Wii games) than the competition.

I'd like to hope that the market is too wise to purchase rubbish like this (even at $20, you're still being ripped off), but I know better than to get my hopes up.

Step 1: click reply
Step 2: ensure it says "replying to" above the text box
Step 3: add reply

Pretty simple if you ask me.

If the page refreshes or if left idle, it does sometimes make the reply an entirely new post. I 'try' to check to see that it says "replying to: -name here-"... but if I'm trying to make a quick comment or reply(usually because I'm at or leaving work), it's easy to forget.

@vidGuy:
The comment system really is buggy. I've had double posts even though I KNOW I only clicked the submit button once.

Personally, I'd love for the following changes made to Joystiq as well:
1) Fix the page layout. I hate having sidebars on both sides of a page.
2) Allow for a variable width comments page resolution. My screen resolution is 1440x900, and I wish the page wasn't locked to fit for 1024x768 resolution.
3) FOR THE EMAIL REPLY SYSTEM TO ACTUALLY WORK. It works on Engadget, but not here. If I click on the link in a reply email, I'm brought to Joystiq but I don't see any comments.

So... yeah...

This holiday seasoon is that line at the school cafeteria where the jocks are pushing and screaming and hitting people in the back of the head, and you say "I'm hungry but not THAT hungry" ao you wait until they go in first(gasp). Any game that isn't low budget, a Wii game, or Mass Effect will get crushed by the big releases of fall. So, yeah, cheap racing games it is.

I agree. It's fun, but not $50 fun.

What happened to Iwata saying games would be priced accordingly?

If it sells, then the price is appropriate.
