NiGHTS and Wii have a future together
10
People seem to be pretty divided so far on NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. The critics tended to score it in the safe seventies, while some of our own commenters had similarly mixed feelings about the title. One thing looks pretty certain, however: if Journey of Dreams director Takashi Iizuka has his way, any future follow-ups to the follow-up will be soaring gracefully to the Wii.
Speaking to German site G-Wie-Gorilla, Iizuka described the console as "a good choice" for the game, before promising that future games in the series would appear on Nintendo's platform. Naturally, that still doesn't quash our supreme disappointment over the PlayStation 2 getting the original NiGHTS into Dreams, but we could certainly cope with a sequel to Journey of Dreams that resolves some of the niggles.

If there is a next one, I just hope Sega doesn't rush it and takes time to polish it. There's absolutely no reason NiGHTS shouldn't have looked at least as good as Sonic & the Secret Rings.
They should have delayed the game, I think. Another month of two of polishing and graphical upgrades would have done this game the justice it deserves. As it stands, it's just a pretty decent game.
That's the worst thing about Sonic Team – if they'd just put some more time into their games, they'd be a lot better than they are. But everything feels like a rush job.

Agreed. Sonic Team hasn't made a really good game since Sonic & Knuckles. ChuChu Rocket and Puyo Pop were decent, but all these 3D Sonic games comprise one disappointment after another; I wish they'd just make a straight-up sequel to Sonic 3.

I think it was pretty stupid of Sega to release it during the holiday season. There were so many games that came out that I doubt NiGHTS was at the top of anybody's list, even the most hardcore NiGHTS lover. I actually wanted to check it out since I missed out on the original, but there were just way too many great games to check out this year. If they had gone ahead and released it in January, right between the Christmas season and Brawl, I think it would have fared a lot better.

Maybe next time they could actually, I dunno, make decent WII CONTROLS for it.

I love how they say it's a great fit for Wii, even though:
1. It uses paltry motion controls
2. The IR controls are horrible
3. The Weather Channel inclusion is a good idea, but was only in the My Dream area, and thus almost pointless
All in all, the game's exclusion to the Wii made almost no sense.
After beating the game, let me say, the last level almost totally makes up for all the mediocrity of other aspects of the game. If Sonic Team put the effort and heart of Bellbridge and its cinematics into the rest of the game, it would have easily been an 8.5-9.0 game.

Aye, i just tackled Helen's Bellbridge yesterday (have to beat Cerberus and Will's Bellbridge tonight), and it really took me away
See i thought the graphics were great, but only when flying. The real-time cinematic sequences were bad, all the close-up graphics (the ground missions, for instance) were bad
