I understand that it would go on forever if the 'player' was good, but the player was awful. Not a single tetris.
Also, their field is 2 columns too narrow.
The original Game Boy version had a smaller well, too. Traditionally, the well is 10x20, but the GB one was 10x18. It's not unthinkable for a 8x12 well, either.

ITS NOT THE GAME. They could have made it a perfect tetris player, they have all the time in the world and they tell each piece where to sit. Heck, they could cheat if they wanted to; but no, they made an enjoyable video with its ups and downs, disappointments and cheers of victory.
If they had made it a perfect game all you haters would cry foul and ask them to do it on the real game anyway to 'prove' themselves.
