Sadness: a chronology of disappointment
We had such a good time reading this, we thought we'd share for a laugh. If you're the kind of person who really splits a seam reading about Duke Nukem Forever's glacial progress, you're sure to get a laugh out of the comedy of errors that we know as Sadness. This vaporous piece of software has been teasing gamers for nearly two years and, despite that lengthy timeframe, we've yet to see even a single screenshot. Stop by Wii Fanboy's Sadness chronology and relive all those precious moments like it's your first time.

For some reason the Black and White idea really appealed to me. Guess its Saboteur for me!
OTAM @ Jan 2nd 2008 9:21PM
Sadness looks like such a cool game.
Too bad it'll probably never see the light of day. Oh what could have been.
Myke @ Jan 2nd 2008 9:29PM
The only difference between Sadness and Duke Nukem Forever is that people were actually looking forward to Sadness!!!
OH SNAP!!!
Probot @ Jan 2nd 2008 9:59PM
That and there was an actual developer working on Duke Nukem. Nibris always sounded to me like a small group of guys that wanted to make games, but had no idea how. But that didn't stop them from making announcements.
SoulBlade @ Jan 2nd 2008 9:40PM
sadness is not having brawl right now.
Torin @ Jan 2nd 2008 10:44PM
not just sadness nibris hasn't gotten Anything done.
Batzarro @ Jan 2nd 2008 11:08PM
Can't you see? He promised Sadness, and are you not sad? That is the game! You! Sad!
Jerk Face @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:34AM
Ha ha.. you win.
lol @ Jan 2nd 2008 11:46PM
well, look how reputable the announcement is!
Awakening is comming! COMMING! And also, as a note to whoever designed that: I'm pretty sure we've all seen Scriptina font before. Very pretty, very overdone. It would do you some good to get a font that is not included in windows by default.
Richard @ Jan 3rd 2008 12:30AM
I'm surprised it took 8 comments to point this out (the "comming" part). Hell, as soon as I saw the pic I was expecting it to be the focus of the article. And I know they're out Poland or wherever, but c'mon.
Slaziman (B-B-BRUSHED WITH FAAAAME) @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:05AM
I tried finding that Scriptina font on Word, but no luck. :(
NATO_Duke @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:54AM
It seems to me that though it’s funny to bust on them for things like a spelling error, they are a foreign company and have tried to use English to design part of their site. (Read through it and you can see that it’s not done by folks in the US or UK.) That’s a lot more than most of us can do with a language we don’t know from birth.
Most of us didn’t comment on coming being spelled wrong because it’s a petty attack on them.
Alucard @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:18AM
maybe J.J Abrams is helping them to make this game???
Jon @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:20AM
Never took them seriously. Especially when Nintendo fans back in the Revolution days claimed that Sadness was the first Wii game announced. The hell, anyone can announce anything, but the fact that they were not accredited Nintendo developers should have raised an eyebrow or two.
But no, for some reason everyone gave them legitimate coverage.
NATO_Duke @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:44AM
Oh I see what you did there. You found a way to make this a Nintendo attack. Nice work there.
Jon @ Jan 3rd 2008 10:15AM
How is that an attack on Nintendo may I ask?
FOXHOUND @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:21AM
*le'sigh*
Well, there's still Kart and Brawl left for 2008 for me on the Wii; since I still don't see any Hockey game even mentioned for release.
Wolfrider @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:51AM
I find it amusing how many people still say how incredible this game looks. Nibris have yet to release a single screenshot or demo. What exactly are people judging?
ThornedVenom @ Jan 3rd 2008 10:12AM
Art direction.
Never underestimate art direction in videogames.
dark_inchworm @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:33AM
Has it really been two years?
Oh, how my pathetic life is flying by.
NATO_Duke @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:46AM
I had forgotten about this "game" completely. It is actually rather sad to see how they desperately hope to convince the world that it will one day exist. In that sense I guess they have won at inducing sadness to the game world. Touché you bastards!
ThornedVenom @ Jan 3rd 2008 10:14AM
I admit that I was part of the Sadness bandwagon.
Todd @ Jan 3rd 2008 4:55PM
I recall seeing screenshots of this game a year ago.
critter178 @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:31PM
Ok if this game dosent exist how can you prove its not real? now cut the crap 2008 just roll around lets wait and see.
