Today in Joystiq: January 2, 2008
One tattoo gaming sleeve to rule them all. We applaud the owner, though we hope his calf doesn't one day become flabby and Samus Aran's armor starts to sag. Check out the highlights for today:

They actually all look pretty good to me but I know one thing, I will never be that hardcore.
born2expire @ Jan 3rd 2008 12:18AM

87th @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:48AM
Sam Fisher!? Kind of seems like he was starting to run out of ideas, at that point.
SID SPACE @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:55AM
Oh, I guess that is Sam. For a minute there, I thought it was that cop, Striker, from Mortal Kombat. I was gonna be like, ewww.
Zeus the God @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:12AM
This man is a God for recognizing the REAL games in the world.
Unreal, Quake, Gears of War, Metroid, Mortal Kombat, and Castlevania.
Wubbytoes @ Jan 3rd 2008 4:25AM
Looks pretty nice, except for Scorpion on there. Maybe he got that one as a joke.
xFenixKnightx @ Jan 3rd 2008 8:30AM
Yeah we all know Sub-Zero is much cooler =)
Shig @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:19AM
Aw, hell naw >:(
Sam @ Jan 3rd 2008 7:36AM
Gears of War, Metroid, Splinter Cell, Unreal, Mortal Kombat, Quake, Knights of the Old Republic, Castlevania and i'm fairly certain that blue starburst type logo in the top right of the 4th picture is the Jedi Knight logo.
Do i get a cookie?
baby sea tuna @ Jan 3rd 2008 8:24AM
Yup, Jedi Knight. Cookie for you!
B @ Jan 4th 2008 9:48AM
You mean, Jedi Outcast.
PerfectCr @ Jan 3rd 2008 8:31AM
Thanks for the nice comments guys. This is my tattoo, I sent it in to Joystiq a few days back. For the full list of games and a small backstory you can check out the Ars Technica article about it here --> http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2007/12/06/ars-reader-designs-the-ultimate-gaming-tattoos
I chose specific images from the games. Scorpion is from MKII, becuase that's my favorite MK, for example. :)
Full story and work in progress pics from start to finish can be found on my personal website, http://perfectcr.com
Thanks!

LOL what a loser.
tcc3 @ Jan 3rd 2008 9:12AM
I'm sure your hobbies are only worthwhile pursuits like solving world hunger or curing cancer.
You are a hero for mocking a stranger over the internet.

PerfectCr @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:20AM
My wife was actually very supportive, so that really helps!
Roto13 @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:58AM
Sorry. I can't get over the overwhelming stupidity of getting video game characters tattooed onto your arms. It's like saying your tastes can never change.
PerfectCr @ Jan 3rd 2008 12:27PM
It's actually on my right leg. ;)
NeverSage @ Jan 3rd 2008 11:40AM
I'm not a big fan of tattoos, but this one's pretty cool.
If I were to get one I'd probably go with the fox hound insignia, though imo MGS reached its peak at the first one.
cold school @ Jan 3rd 2008 12:09PM
craptastic
ANt @ Jan 3rd 2008 1:39PM
Yeah, he'll be regretting that one soon....LOL
Leobebes @ Jan 3rd 2008 2:17PM
Issues...
ZeroCorpse @ Jan 5th 2008 12:04AM
Lucky he's already got a wife. A tattoo like that says, "I'm going to sit on the couch and ignore you most of the time." to a woman.
Tattoos are for people who think they'll never evolve, grow, change, or like different things later in life. Most of the time, they're right.
Me? All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't get tattoos of anything I liked when I was younger. I'd be pretty pissed if I had a Voltron tattoo right about now. I'd be embarrassed if I went with the quirky impulse and got that TurboGrafx-16 tattoo. I'd be mad at myself if I tattooed any anime/manga characters on myself, because I outgrew that crap and now I hate it.
Most people change over time. I hope you still like Mortal Kombat in 2037.
