I can already hear the poor kids screaming at those games, after their stupid clueless parents bought one of these shitstains.

Don't bash Destineer, they used logic. 6 crap games = .5 good game.... bash Midway instead because 1 n64 game = 1 n64 game

They're actually a lot bigger of a deal than these crappy games.

They design PC-based training apps for the military.

Random sidenote, Destineer was founded by the old VP of Bungie.

Destineer also published Taito Legends 2 on the PS2, believe it or not.

Granted, they also messed up Bust-A-Move in the collection, so I hate them a lot.

Just another example of Nintendo's lack of any formal licensing process rearing it's ugly head. If you go look at the Wii section of any video game retailer you can see several examples of games being developed by no-name publishers. DSI is one publisher that comes to mind when I think about all of the crappy games that have been made for the Wii. Really would Destineer or DSI or fill in the blank, ever be able to get away with this crap on any of the other consoles? No formal licensing process + uninformed/unknowing consumers = a whole lot of crappy games.

Why should Nintendo enforce a formal licensing process when they make tons of money on hardware, no 3rd-party title will EVER hurt Nintendo's own image, and every game printed puts money in Nintendo's pocket regardless of said title's quality?

Nintendo started the whole shovelware hysteria when they emphasized low dev costs (ie, quantity). It's what they wanted.

Actually it has hurt Nintendo's image, I know from those whom I've talked to that it has. The system is beginning to gain a reputation as the system of very few quality titles and a ton of garbage. These titles may put money in Nintendo's pocket, but at what price? Eventually Nintendo needs to step in and say hey don't just throw out some crappy game on our system so that you as a developer can make a quick payday. When a developer throws out any crappy game for a system there is a good possibility that someone is going to play it and then say "wow this is all that this system is capable of!!!". That's how it effects their reputation. When I look at that Nintendo Seal of Quality on some of these Wii games I just have to laugh.

I don't think Wii third parties know the meaning of the word, "shame."

What I want to know is how the heck a no-name publisher managed to get licensed by Nintendo in the first place.

Another reason that there are allot of crappy games for the wii is that it has a very low development cost, the ps3 and xbox306 sdks are in the tens of thousands of dollars while the wii is only a few thousand. Also, nintendo still has the kid friendly game so developers are making childish games. Really there needs to be more quality games on the wii and at least some form of quality control on the wii.

The whole low cost developing thing was for DECENT and GOOD developers with little money to be able to release their gold on the Wii. Destineer is killing that idea and shitting all over the Wii by pushing shit after shit on store shelves.

Nintendo needs to do quality control to make sure the actual good ones make it and the crappy ones get flogged in public.
