Pff, on PC there isn't even any voice chat most of the time. Sure makes that Perk to hear the other team's voice chat useless. This on COD4 and TF2.

"Halo is a Force you better recognize and respect."

LMAO

"There is simply something amazing about that game that people love."

No. your precious Halo is nothing special.

It's just a generic FPS that happens to have had an advertisement of -apocalyptic- proportions. It's just another shooter, one that every last human being on the planet happens to know about because they saw it on TV, billboards, cereal, soda cans and tampons. Everyfuckingwhere. Constantly. With Halo 3's ad budget they could've sold a cup of old pig shit and they would have been just as successful.

There are a lot of people saying Halo 3 is generic, but I don't see how other FPS's are so much more innovative. Call of Duty 4? It's Call of Duty 2 with a fancy experience system on the multiplayer (and a great campaign). Bioshock? Good narrative and story, but the shooting wasn't anything special, and half of the plasmids are useless. R:FOM? LOL. At least Halo 3 has vehicles, saved films, and forge, as well as a great game to play in co-op campaign. Sure, it's an FPS, and it's very much like it's predecessors, but if Halo 1 and 2 were fun, what's wrong with Halo 3 being more of the same? I wish you guys claiming it's generic would back your shit up with some valid arguments.

@BM: I was talking about the whole Halo Trilogy. I have been playing halo since halo 1.

As a matter of fact, Halo was the only reason why I bought a Xbox. Halo 2 was the only reason Why I got Xbox Live. And Halo 3 was my primary reason to buy a 360. Call me a Halo fanboy, but the fact that all these games made me buy all of this, means something. Heck I dont play Halo 3 that often anymore. But that doesnt mean it sucks, it just means there is more to play out there now that is to my taste. I think 8.1 Million people would agree with me.

If you're looking for Pros, try your local Radioshacks.

I know my store (Arundel Mills in Hanover, MD) has 5 in stock, and they come with the pack-in games.

Most of the 360s in Radioshacks distribution chain are all the bundles.

Sony and the SDF are Pathetic..

I was holding an Christmas party at my crib. I copped Scene it! for my guests as I am "hardcore" and dont play games such as these.

Once it came on, EVERYONE in my house took turns playing.. It got late and this lady on my girls side of the family wanted to leave, but her husband kept telling her "one more game!" -Mind you he was 60+ saying: "oh, i gotta get this!"

So if you think the 360 attracts only the hardcore, I have just one word for you..

Its funny that MS brags about this Number when I know for a fact that MS goes out anf buys consoles from Best Buy and Circuit City to give away. So yes they have sold this amount but they have also given away about 10% of that. I got my Elite free just because I know someone that works for MS.

your an idiot. Why would microsoft sell consoles to retailers, then go back to them to repurchase the consoles back to give away? This is the funniest thing I ever read lol.

Microsoft consoles which are "givin" away in contests and whatnot, are supplied directly from the factories.

Lol I cant believe you thought some1 went out and repurchased consoles for contests.

Why would they buy their own consoles from retailers that they sold them too? To pad their Numbers. If they take a unit off the line then it doesn't count towards their overall units sold. They are playing a numbers game. Also keep in mind that people out there that have had a bad console and have boought a new one are also padding the overall number.

People like you and Jack are so damn pathetic. Do you think people believe the fanboy crap you spew?

MS doesn't buy back consoles to pad their numbers - the numbers representing sales don’t help them, actual sales do - so that makes no damn sense. They want to sell the units to people to get the income and the attach rates. This doesn’t happen if you are buying them yourself. Also, they would take units out of their own stock to give away since that saves them all the costs involved with the unit once it leaves the factory floor. Your argument was idiotic.

You just spit out a lie and now you’re in a bad spot as anyone in their right mind knows it was a lie.

Your credibility = 0. Move on.

IMHO - What's with the Halo hatin'? Halo turned me ON to FPS. I LOVE those freakin' games! That is MY opinion. Not a reviewer. Not the sales chart. The quality and lure of the Halo universe is something I can't quite explain. Weird that I find myself defending one of the best selling/reviewed game of recent years.

Yeah, 17 million sold to retailers NOT consumers. The user base is much smaller than the install base for 360, like maybe 12 million as so many people keep buying the broken box 2, 3, 4 times cause they're tied to the 360 DRM hell. And with only 8 million on live? ouch.

Whatever bullshit logic you're using is irrelevant because here's the fact of the matter... there's more 360's in peoples homes than there are ps3's and it will always be like that at this point. The PS3 isn't necessarily selling like hot cakes and definitely not fast enough to catch up to the 360's year head start, and for that, the public perception is starting to become the following: The 360 is the cooler system to own because more people seem to have it. All someone would have to do is come to Joystiq and read the comments on an article about the ps3 or xbox 360 and realize how many more people are in favor of the 360.

Now with that said, I don't think the ps3 will necessarily stop selling at its current pace and might even pick up. But I think the current gap in sales numbers between the ps3 and 360 will remain the same throughout their lifespan.

Face it PS3 fanboys! The 360 is the new PS2 of this gen. Sure the Wii is doing its own thing but thats why you see 360 controllers on TV shows and in movies. Just like with PSX and PS2. 360 just took that over. RROD or not 360 has the best games and online service out there and people keep buying it for that. I have a PS3 and what sux is that all my buddies play on LIVE so its not as fun. Dont get me wrong the PS3 is sweet but not as sweet as 360 gaming wise.

-Best games, Halo3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Gears 1&2, Ninja Gaiden 2, PGR, FORZA2, Halo Wars, ***better multiplats***, XBLA, Xbox originals, etc.

-Best online service

-Wayyyy better controller

-Rumble

-Achievements

-Gamer Cards

-Way better selection of gamerpics thats for damn sure

-Premium comes with a freakin Live Headset and HD comp cables unlike any of the PS3 sku's =(

All of these things, even the small stuff like the gamerpics, gamercards, and achievemets add up to a better overall gaming experience that trully makes you feel like a gamer. No other console has delivered this.
Definatley not PS3. When I pass a stage or beat a game on PS3 there is no menu I can get to so I can check all my stats and accompishments. TO ME atleast thats pretty cool. Sorry just my .02

i agree with everything you said except for the xbox originals part. There was nothing on the original xbox, save kotor, that I wanted to play. However, ps3 has the potential to bust out every great title from the ps1 and 2 eras, which are far far more than the xbox ever had.

That being said most wouldn't get to play them cause of no backward compatibility. Thankfully i have a 60gb :D

Im happy xbox has tken over. I always hated the ps brand and their lack of multiplayer focus. I use to game on my n64 and wondered WTF is up with the ps2 and only having 2 controller ports?

Nowadays it seems:

xbox 360 = Heavy online multiplayer and co-op focus, minimal local multiplayer focus
PS3 = Minimal online and minimal local multiplayer focus, mainly 1-player focuse
wii = Almost exclusivly local multiplayer focused with minal single player and near non-exsistant or terribly implamented online focus.

Personally the 360 wins for me. I suppose I would enjoy a wii if I was still in high school like I did with my n64. Me and my friends used to play everyday after school. Now Im older and I dont see my friends as often and we live far from each other. The most convient way, and the most fun way is to play online. the 360 has that area locked down. And achievments have really brought back that boost in video games I needed. I always loved 100%ing a game as a kid but began to grow tiring of it. Somehow these achievments make it fun again.
