I'm trying to decide whether I'm excited because I USED to love SF, or because I actually want to play this one. Either way, I'll probably rent it, decide it's too hard (and retarded) to try and play without a proper joystick arcade config, and just play Halo til I forget MC can't haduken anyone.

So you're stuck in the past then Eddie? Way to go for progression. Thought's like that is why SF died in the first place.

I'm pretty sure...

a) I just mentioned a game I would rather play that's less than 4 months old. Does that "go for progression" enough for you?

and

b) I just said I would probably play it regardless of my reasons for wanting to. If it's good, I'll buy it and play it alot.

and

c) If thoughts killed it, it probably shouldn't have been alive in the first place.

Pure garbage!!! Please Capcom start all over!!!

I can't believe people actually like this sh!t. I'm an old school 2-d fighting gal, and this is not Street Fighter.

Please Capcom start all over. (same thing goes for Bionic Commando, start all over)

But...but...don't you want "transparent skin layers" so you can see Ryu's veins popping out of his neck with every hadouken?

Oh wait, that's right...Capcom's just spewing PR bs.

I'm trying to understand how this isn't the same game over and over and over and over again but with updated graphics and a new chracter here and there. Does anyone even fighting games any more? I don't remember people playing this since the arcade days about 10 years ago.

We have an MAME cabinet in my office loaded with every rom imaginable and aside from the one guy who likes to play Rampage and Golden Tee, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike is the only game that gets played on it. The competition is fierce.

Im more with Comment 9 on this one I think. But not entirly sure. In someways the characters dont look right almost like an awkward bubbly or pollygon way. But its still got a shot at being good.
Perhaps Capcom avoided making this game entirly 3d for the sol purpose that they couldn't out do Arc Systems with the Guilty Gear series. Either way, congradulations Sammy on dominating the 2d market in terms of quality and animation.
And for the record.
FUCK GAMEVIDEOS.COM
They suck, please stop pulling videos from that shit site, If Gametrailers dont have it we can wait till they do. PLEASE!

I am wondering if 3D/2D is going to work. the last time Capcom did a 3D in Street Fighter was in EX series and look how that turn out

I am hopeful that this gamble turns out good and Street Fighter 4 is a good game on all platforms

The EX series wasn't made by Capcom, it was developed by Arika. SFIV will be different, it's in good hands.

I did, and it's why I don't like what this game's probably going to turn out to be. SF3 had some of the best 2D animation EVER (even better than Guilty Gear).

This is like the worst looking Tekken game or the worst looking Budokai game EVER. Why can't they just be like "Psych! Buy SF2 HD Remix SUCKAZ!" That would probably offend WAY fewer SF fans than making Ryu look like a really creepy Akira from VF.

First of all, while sf3 3rd strike had amazing animation it it was severly out done by Guilty Gear XX2 reload on the xbox original. But it was king for awhile. Still is the deepest and best 2d fighting game in my opinion.
Secondly, Capcom lost all thier good 2d programmers after sf3 was made. Which is why they havn't made a fourth in all this time and also why every one of the 20 or so other capcom 2d fighters that have come out look like they are nowhere near the level of design that sf3 was at.
They all went, made a pit stop at SNK then ended up making guess what? The guilty gear series.
There are NO CAPCOM fighters that even come close to looking as good as these titles...

Vampire Savior
Jo Jo'S Bizzar Adventure
Street Fighter 3

They all came out around the same time too. Since then capcoms fighters have played well but wernt up to par with any of these games, not even close. With one exception and thats Cap Vs Snk 2 but still, even though a great game lacks in animation and frame rate. Thats why these guys dont wanna touch 2d, they cant handle it the way they know it should be handled. These 3d models they are using in this game look about as good if not worse than the character models in one of the newer MK games. But it WILL play like sf3 with some added features.
Oh and just so everyone knows, the game the good ol sf programmers helped out snk with was Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves. Which is another masterfuly done 2d fighter and manages to put everyother snk fighter ever made to shame in terms of animation quality.

i'll co-sign that mike, i loved 3rd strike but alpha 3 was the last great Street Fighter in my books

All those who aren't to happy with the EX series go back and play the first one EX+ Alpha once you're past the look, the gameplay is on point where it should be
