So if I go buy 8 copies that will increase the chances of seeing it on the 360 by about 1% or so?

...it feels like playing an MMORPG!

MGS4 + Crysis + horrible sales = Xbox 360 ports.

Math is fun.

It seems sort of backwards. Sell enough on PC to subsidize the 360 port? Thats one hell of a way to try and make a living. I'm going to guess this route got people laid off. If they wanted to make money, they should have gone to the 360 first. It has been out long enough that this should have been common sense by now.

I doubt Crytek is in any financial hurt.

Farcry sold a bunch on all sorts of platforms, not to mention that the CryEngine 2 is going to be licensed out pretty heavily.

Why try to make a awesome looking game, when you can just license the engine, and switch some models around. Works for everyone else using UE3.

I would say there are too many horrible gaming websites on the net that people are taking too seriously..

I mean just since the Jan 1 we have MGS4 on 360 rumor, Crysis on 360 rumor, Ultimate Xbox 360 rumor, LA Noire coming to 360 rumor and Xbox Live hacked(DDoSed) rumor.

It seems like the 360 gets the brunt of these shoddy journalistic/website rumors and as a fan of reading game news it's really turning me off. I wish these gaming sites would stick to reporting facts and news vs. jerking the 360 owners around with a bunch of half-truths and poor speculation.

I think I found a new years resolution... Stop reading gaming news on the internet.

Joystiq is reporting the rumor, not starting it. I think it's great, otherwise EA would have never come out and said ANYTHING... regardless if it's BS. Look at Sony, they BS'ed all about the PS3 capabilities and fanboys ate it up. Joystiq just reports what's being said.

EA just doesn't want to hinder PC sales. As long as they don't announce it, more people will be willing to buy it on PC.

Good luck. The PS2 couldn't even run all of Rock Band, what makes you think the Wii has any chance? Harmonix outsourced the PS2 version and hung on the coat tails of the PS3 peripherals. The Wii version, given that they won't even admit they're thinking about it, is probably never coming. Why bother, when 100 million people have PS2s?

Well, considering that the Wii is about twice as powerful as the Gamecube, which was more powerful than the PS2 and the Wii has better and more established online capability, I'd say that Rock Band for the Wii would probably be better than the PS2 version.

Unless you are running a 5 year old Dell, you could run it at low settings. The problem with your kind of people is that either they want it all, or they don't want it at all. Since you haven't played it, what would you know? The gameplay is awesome, at least for me.

Not porting to the 360 would be like Crytek saying they hate money. It should be fairly easy to port and they will probably see triple the sales they had on the pc.

any kind of port of this game to ps3 or xbox 360 wouldn't even be the crysis you see on the PC. it's like porting far cry to the wii, and we saw how that went. this is one game where if they port it from PC, it'll do a lot more harm than good.

...because god knows games such as GoW and Ratchet really showed the 360 and PS3 couldn't handle advanced looking visuals.

Whatever dude. How could you do more harm when the games not selling much in the first place.

You obviously haven't seen this game in action.

Crysis takes a dump on GoW and Ratchet (lol?) in terms of visuals.

I've stopped taking the UE3 engine serious after realizing how many shortcuts it takes in the programming department, and how not impressive it actually is.

As long as the physics remain the same, I don't see how some blurrier shadows and textures would make it a different game.

Crytek doesn't make console games, never have and according to them, never will. If it was being ported, it wouldn't be coming from Crytek, and being that EA owns the IP(Guessing?), I'm sure they will farm it out to someone. It's not going to be the same game, it's just impossible for obvious reasons.

btw, I wouldn't doubt that Crysis has sold a ton more copies since the November sales figures, which were only US Retail for a few weeks. While it won't put up console numbers, I'm sure it'll do just fine.

Even if it sold well, it wouldn't get ported to the 360, because the 360 would never have a chance of running it, no matter how ridiculously optimized and gutted the code was.

If they added a Gigabyte of RAM and replaced that weakling 360 CPU with something that had a bigger machine instruction selection, and maybe 4MB of cache, it MIGHT work, but I doubt it. Not that that's ever going to happen, maybe when the Xbox 720 comes out in 2012.

I'm not saying this because I'm a PC fanboy, as a matter o'fact, I like consoles more than PCs. The games are easier to set up and play. But I'm also someone who knows what I'm talking about, even the PS3 wouldn't be able to handle Crysis. You could buy a brand new Alienware system with the highest specs possible, and stick the disk in, and Cryteks rating system would give it's innards an average rating. Oh yes, I'm not joking, that's not something anyone in the mass market is going to be playing for at least 3 years, and you know why not many people are buying it in the first place? Because not many possess a monstor of a rig that can handle that kind of crap. Maybe Crytek will have better luck when PCs and Consoles are more powerful in five years (when Quad Cores and 8X00 GPUs become common place).
