Why does CAD always need to whip out the boobies to be funny? Too bad the Santa one was funnier anyways. ;)

They haven't brought boobies into this comic business in a while actually. It was a refreshing comic.

No. I don't care. Boobies always win. And yes, I'm married so that might have something to do with it.

The first one and the one with boobs were the funniest.

The second one is by far the truest =)

A weak week, so i went for Dueling Analogues

The other comics were either too minimalistic (DU) or Wall o' Text (CAD)

I love when people complain about CAD having to much text, it is hilarious. I'm gonna go read some manga.

But Manga are meant to tell stories (usually), I equate Web comics with newspaper comics, something to make me laugh in a few frames simply enough, but not too simply

CAD-comics has a continuing main story. Like a sitcom but you know funny and clever. I like the extra text, it adds to the humor without over-stating everything.

"Like a sitcom but you know funny and clever."

Funnier than any of the webcomics this week.

Character development tends to lead to more humor, as in most sitcoms on TV (except for Scrubs, where they whitewashed all the characters once the show became a hit). For example, Homer's antics would be as funny as a one-shot gig. I like CAD's commitment to story and narrative arcs.

8^U makes an impressive return this week.

Um... Everquest? ONE? He's addicted to Everquest, which came out 11 years ago? Buckley, first you photoshop your characters in the same position for three panels a comic and then you say everquest 1? And you broke out the seventh-grade BOOBIES!LOL joke?

And you're winning?

The first one was incredibly true so I picked it.

Apparently you've never really read any CAD-comics otherwise you'd know what was going on there and find it hilarious.

@ Anticrawl: I read CAD every day it updates for gods know what reason, and don't find it even remotely funny.

That said, this is probably one of B^Uckley's better efforts, not that it's saying much.

so you all you guys above admit to infantile comedy with boobies as commitment to narrative? I've tried, like seriously sat there for more than an hour of my life and reading through the CAD archive, and it was the first web-comic where I read through the archive and decided not to book mark it. It sucks that much balls. (Is that the kind of comedy appropriate for describing CAD?)

Voted DU this week, seeing as it was the best of a bad bunch. VG Cats was a close second, but seeing how infrequently it updates, it'll be next Christmas before this story arc's finished / scrapped, which seems to defeat the whole point.

Also, it'd be awesome if this appeared on the poll next week, even if just to see how (badly) it fares in comparison to everything else:

Firstly, comparing CAD to manga when there is no manga in the review in question isn't really helping your cause in defending a really mediocre comic.

"Well. I like how people hate how this has too much text. I'm gonna go read this thing that I think has too much text even though that's never been brought up."

Fantastic.

Second, the difference between Manga text and CAD wall of text is manga has a multitude of things that actually affect how the comic is read. Three lines of text are broken up into three speech bubbles to keep your eyes moving to move you through a page quicker. In other words: Lots of words distributed over many pages.

CAD dumps may lines into one panel with no thought on placement (unless you consider covering up the copy and paste art to be thoughtful speech bubble placement) which just results in WALL OF TEXT WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS.

I also love the character development of the fat jerk, the zany idiot, and the girl who is a girl who rolls her eyes. Very funny and clever. I've also never seen boobs used in such a "clever" way along with the "clever" rpg jokes that have been on the internet since PA and PVP did them years ago alongside of every other 13 year old kid with a scanner.

Oh, and Lilah looks like a dude. Thanks for the side view of the testicles that hang off of "her" chest.

You're a very angry man. I never compaired manga and CAD-comics, I just enjoy a little dialoge in my comics.

These Everquest jokes are a nostalgic return to previous strips in the series my friends, just calm down. It is a gaming comic, and I'd say a damn good parody of gamers, the internet, and their lifestyle. You need to take some pills or atleast do something constructive with all that "negative energy."

Perhaps lift weights, jog, or knit a quilt depicting you're hatrid of CAD-comics.

But really now, boob jokes? was that REALLY the most clever thing B^Uckley could think of to resolve this joke-less story arc? was that really the punch line of 2 weeks of exposition?

OH I GET IT BECAUSE ETHAN IS ADDICTED TO EVERQUEST AND BY SHOWING HER BOOBS IT'S A WAY TO GET HIS ATTENTION. HOW CLEVER AND ORIGINAL. PLUS I LIKE HOW HE DOES A GREAT JOB OF INSERTING TONS OF MEANINGLESS TEXT. IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD FOR BEING A LOYAL READER CUZ I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON EVEN THOUGH IT'S OBVIOUS AND TOTALLY FUNNY AND IS A HINT INTO THE MIND OF A COMEDIC GENIUS LIKE BUCKLEY. I'M REALLY GLAD I READ THAT.

I thought 2PStart was the obvious choice. It was just really clever. All the more so, because people have actually drawn Pac-Man into the streets.

At first I was going to vote for 2pstart, but then CAD was funny(which it hasn't been in a long time) so I voted for them. I think Tim needs a break from all the hate.

And why the hell do people still read VGcats? It NEVER updates.

I like how all you people bashing CAD are just doing it because other people liked it. Pointing out how immature the comic is, isn't going to make the CAD-lovers change their mind. You guys need to chill.

I voted for CAD for the "slightly rewired" link, and I generally don't even like CAD
