I'm sorry to say, but I was a bit disappointed with the Xbox news, but some of the windows features are looking pretty cool.

Damnit I was really hoping they'll join the portable wars. Imagine what they could do... Vista, XboxLive, Zune, etc.

Oh well

Wow, I guess Microsoft is really confident that they have won the console wars because for Mr. Gates last keynote they revealed nothing revolutionary.

I too feel ashamed and disappointed in myself for wasting that hour. Is it me, or do Microsoft presentations contain a cringe factor not present in other keynotes, namely Apple's? I mean none of Gate's predictions about where personal technology sound particularly appealing to me. Sounds like an invitation to be absorbed into the Borg or some scary weird shit.

They never make any big announcements at it and they likely never will. Even just in terms of buzz, there's absolutely nothing ever leading up to these keynotes. Maybe some things will happen at the show itself, but there are simply bigger, better, more popular shows that would lend themselves best to real announcements fort the 360.

Did you guys expect news about games or something? Have you EVER watched a CES keynote? This was pretty standard as far as they go. As another poster put it, this isn't E3. CES is about technology, not the games we play on them. That's why topics like IPTV and digital distribution were discussed.

Thats not what the guys problem here is. People are complaining because there was suppose to be a Bill Gates Special Surprise about the XBOX 360. (XBOX 360 is technically a Video Game Console).

And since there was none, or maybe it was announced and it was extremely lame. So now people are complaining.

Gotcha. I never caught wind of a 'big surprise announcement' aside from the HDDVD 360 rumour, so I didn't have high expectations..

What no Scarface,Godfather,Fast and Furious,Transformers,V for Vendetta,Batman Begins,Star Wars movies and no Girls Gone wild movies; not even a price cut for the annual xbox live service?damn Microsoft you suck.No Ultimate 360 but we get a load of crappy and decent shows when you could view some of those shows online for free.

It's CES geniuses. It isn't E3. Gaming was but a small part of MS business. Did you see the sony keynote? They barely said anything about gaming. Just that the psp was getting skype.

Holy crap you people need to just calm the hell down.

Any worthwhile Xbox news will be saved for the Game Developer's Conference. They're not going to blow it all at CES and have nothing to show for the later GAME FOCUSED trade shows.

Amen, really who the heck really watches this anyway. Microsoft got it's own tv special when unveilling the 360 and you people expected something big out of this? Its akin to going to a McDonalds finnacial meeting, I mean, I like eating there, but I'm not going there and expecting them to announce the re-launching of the McPizza.

It's a great move for ABC et. al. They are hedging their bets on both formats and I’m not talking about BluRay and HD-DVD since it would seem that BLuRay would have already won (IMHO) but rather I’m talking between Digital Download versus media. You see, Lost on BluRay just came out and with this announcement, it looks like Lost will also be on XBLM which means it is available in HD to both of the fanboy fences. From a demographic standpoint, it looks like they might have figured out that the typical customer who would buy media would be the older generation while the customer who would purchase downloads would be the younger generation. There are exceptions of course but I would bet my money that someone in ABC thought this through and decided that this is the best way to make the most money. Hey, I’m just thinking here. Fanboyism aside, what a great move by ABC and expect more of the same to follow…
