Iron Chef game listed, then pulled
The game appears to be on the brink of an announcement, with a listing appearing and disappearing on Gamestop's website for DS and Wii versions of the game, and Siliconera's Spencer Yip indicating that an IC game was being created at Destineer. (Yes, that Destineer). We're already sharpening our knives in anticipation, but we have to ask: To whom do we have to give World's Best Backrub Coupons to get Alton Brown in the game?

Woo! Alton Brown!
and i will totally buy an Iron Chef game. Especially if it had online battles. That would be killer

I love Alton Brown! I'm a Good Eats junkie.
As for the game...well it might be fun to play once or twice but I don't see how it would work out. I mean, you would only make the dishes they set up for a certain battle. I wonder if I'll be able to use liquid nitrogen and the infusion cooker?

Deadliest catch is probably the "manliest" show on tv considering they a working one of the most dangerous jobs this world has to offer... I don't really see any huge manly factors with iron chef though... Not that it isn't manly just not a show I would put in my list of manly shows...

This isn't the first Iron Chef game, but count me in.
(Iron Chef was made for the Sega Saturn in Japan.)

sweet cooking mama with different graphics. This ia a sure fire winner..................................

the first Cooking Mama was a ton of fun, especially for only $20. The wii version was pretty good too. Haven't picked up CM2 for DS, but I will.

It was fun for a few hours, but it just wasn't challenging at all. It was simply a matter of knowing how to chop, stir or do whatever other motion that was called for, with the Wiimote. Once you get those things down there wasn't much to it. Too many Wii games fail the four hour test with me. Ie. it's still fun after four hours of playing.

Was that video from the game or was it a video you guys made? That looked to funny to be for the game.
PhrawzT @ Jan 7th 2008 10:17AM
The Saturn version was just a virtual tour of Kitchen Stadium and not an actual game. There were proposed games for PS1 and PS2 that were both scrapped. I would rather see a Iron Chef game based on the Japanese show. Chairman Kaga FTW!
Cheese Muffin @ Jan 7th 2008 10:50AM
Agree'd.
The Japanese show had a lot more charm to it if you ask me. 'Iron Chef America' is just basically a platform for Food Network to whore out these weaksauce chefs.
Neon Jebus @ Jan 7th 2008 11:11AM
I think the Japanese chefs had a lot more talent. That being said I really like most of the chefs on the American version. Batali is a stick in the mud on that show and I've heard he might be leaving.
Morimoto doesn't get enough screen time and I think that is a shame. He is amazing.
I like Chef Symon but that laugh of his is terrible. I really think John Besh should have won. They need a French style Chef. Symon has a style too close to Cora.
ThornedVenom @ Jan 7th 2008 10:37AM
Those 5 chefs better be able to summon Captain Pastafari, or Cakezord.

I still maintain that Cooking Mama is the best Cooking Simulator for the DS. But if this game isn't too lame i might get it and revise my statement.

I just want to call in the Paula Deen combo breaker!

I've been waiting for an Iron Chef game. Too bad about the developer, though.
paragraph @ Jan 7th 2008 11:33AM
Well, it could be worse, it could have a totally random Developer, like lets say Infinity Ward, imagine an Iron Chef Game made by the makers of CoD, it would totally blow because they don't have any experiance with out of the ordinary games. At least we can all say that this dev hasn't shown it'sef as a crap factory... yet.

If the game was like the promo in the video above, count me in. Although you know it won't be as stylized.
Ariel @ Jan 7th 2008 9:11PM
Oh, Alton. I'm baking up a sweet soufflé just for you.

Awesome news!
So hopefully I can enter the Contra code to unlock Chef Ramsey! :)
