Rez HD: extra controllers double as trance vibrators (seriously)

That the very first comment on our very first Rez HD post asked if the updated shooter contained support for the infamous trance vibrator peripheral should come as no surprise. Though Mizuguchi says the device wasn't meant to be sexual, ever since that 2002 game girl advance post buzzed its way onto the internets, the vibrating peripheral has become a thing of gaming lore.

While they're not releasing a new peripheral for the XBLA release and they're not enabling support for the USB original, we did learn of another option at a Microsoft meeting at CES this morning: you can enable trance vibrator support through an additional Xbox 360 controller (or three – you can use all four slots). How long before someone switches the guts from a 360 controller and a trance vibrator? Our guess: not long.

Hey! I own a pink controller.

Stupid MS changed the innards now, it only charges off the 360 now. No more charging off an iPod power brick, even with the MS Play n Charge cable.

I'm not surprised they activated this, the trance vibrator was just a rumble controller of a different shape.

damn, That chick seems hot. Maybe I'll play the game if I could find a chick like that.

I mean, if your going to use it for that, mind as well put it on the console that has a controller that "fits" better. Im not sure how having a 360 controller at your foot, or somewhere else more private would feel.

There's an SDK available, so assuming someone writes the code and Microsoft adds it in an update, this twisted fantasy could become a reality.

I've seen plenty of wiimotes that were being used for "That" functionality. Personally, I can't see any (real) girl actually using this thing. What's sexual about music? Why not get a real one and watch something with...I don't know...muscly dudes or something.

I'm still waiting for the game that requires you to put your junk in a long hollow "Shaft" controller, and control the game that way. Maybe a game about drilling, or mining, or something else requiring you to thrust ;p

Still won't be the same. Wasn't half the point of the Trance Vibrator peripheral that the vibrations were, like 5 times stronger than the Dual Shock's?

That's why you have support for using up to three additional controllers. Using all three you might near Trance Vibrator strength vibrations.

I like how the comments for this have fallen into pure smut. Usually i'd not complain about sexism, but equating REZ with getting people off is such an insult to the magnificence of the game itself..even if its pretty much asking for the comparisons :(

Dang I wish I had researched that Rez vibrator thing. When I did some contract work for Sega they gave me one and I kept it for a long time but a few months ago I sold it on ebay, never opened. I was shocked that it got somewhere around $90. After reading that gamer girl post, I think I understand why now.

ok, so lemme get this straight: Microsoft bans my friend's gamertag for being slightly lewd (I didn't think MeatyTree was lewd), but they go and offer an XBLA game that doubles as a jerk off session for chicks? What the F*ck?! Where's the "hot coffee" bitches now?! I'd bet if Rockstar made the game, Jack Thompson would be all over this shit.

Honestly, I don't care. It's just strange what is offensive, and what isn't in our country.
