Man, you should have seen me when I heard it was StarTropics this week. I think the NEIGHBORS heard me yelling.

Oh yeah, same here. I haven't been paying attention to the VC lately, but when I saw this I almost screamed HOMIGOD STAR TROPICS loud enough for the neighbors to hear.
I'm going to download it the moment I am able. One of my favorites on the NES, if not the favorite. Hell, this game is /the/ reason I learned the musical scale and cardinal directions (I mean, I would have eventually, but I learned them to solve the puzzles in this game).

Yeah, haha, I was all MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOOOOOLE.... STAAAAAAARTROOOOOOPIIIIIIICS.

The man, who clearly has NO TASTE and who NEVER PLAYED THIS thought I'd gone over the edge. It's definitely in my top five of the NES. As I was watching Dave's vid, I was all rocking out to the music. StarTropics definitely reduces me to a squeeing fangirl and I'm so unashamed.

Ha, no problem there, I'm reduced to a screaming fangirl, too... and I'm a guy.
At least, until I get that damn crystal ball...

I plan on downloading it anyway, but I wondered if Nintendo gave you any info on the Uncle's Letter for the last level of Startropics?
I figured they would send you an email copy of the code or something.

I'm sure I still have my original, but I'd rather not have to hunt it down in my garage to beat a game on VC.

Just curious. I'm stoked this game finally made it.

You should record these and then narrate them afterwards. It would sound better that way and you wouldn't seem completely distracted .

I'd like to, but I do the editing right on the camera itself. My computer situation right now isn't the best, so I need to straighten that out first before I do anything else.

The more I watch, the more I want to try Startropics. That must have truly been epic in the NES days, with the whole letter dipping and whatnot. I must have missed that one on the NES and I certainly plan on picking it up for the virtual console after seeing the overwhelmingly positive information about it.

I had lent my NES copy of Star Tropics to a friend's son back in the day (wet letter and all), and haven't seen it since. A definite download for me.

yeah that cool letter that you dipped in water didn 't come with the rented copy that i took home from Blockbuster....15 years ago or so. I had to try every number starting at 001 to get past the part that asked you for the mhz.....gggrrr
