Video: Gates, Bach and Slash know how to rock
14
If there was one highlight from last night's CES keynote we'd have to say Bill Gates and Robbie Bach's Guitar Hero III-off was pretty entertaining. Actually, neither actually played the game as they each had their own "ringer" to play for them, but that's half the fun. We'll agree that it's a bit scripted, a bit awkward at times and a tad of a stretch, but seeing Bill Gates bringing Slash on stage and watching the over-production of it all is simply priceless. Not to mention the fact that we have Les Paul faceplate envy and hope Microsoft hooks us up with the one they used on stage. Relax, watch and enjoy.

i brought my fiance a xbox 360 2 years ago for valentines day and it just stopped working. All we can get is a red light. To make it so bad he doesn't really play his game that much. This isn't the first time that i've been told this has happened. My friend brought one for her son for christmas two years age and once again it stopped working. What are we suppose to do. If you ask me any X box 360 sucks as far as breaking with in 2 years of buying it.

That wasn't well rehearsed, that chick came out and the song had already started... and they didn't even play guitar hero against eachother...

Man. i wonder how much they payed slash to come on stage and play a single riff :P
That was probably the most "uncool" thing the man has done in his entire life to be honest.
How the mighty have fallen xD

I would love to see slash playing on expert, just to see how good he really is at the game.

Ugh. Watching Microsoft presentations is so uncomfortable. Cringe city. Even the worst Steve Jobs keynotes are far more entertaining or at least somewhat interesting. Microsoft's attempts at being relevant and hip are sad. That said, I do like my Xbox. It's about the only thing they ever got completely right. This keynote was a complete waste of time though.

OK, I have to agree with Marrvia. I'm sure the game is fun - but that chick was acting like a "rock star", which is hard when you're holding a plastic guitar with a few buttons on it. She does not rock, I don't care if she aced the game with here eyes closed.
Slash? May not be my cup of tea, but at least he actually ROCKS.
Keep the Guitar Hero where it belongs - in your house, enjoying it with a bunch of friends.

No. The highlight was that movie about Bill Gates. That clip with JayZ made me laugh my ass off.

WOW! So many haters. Everyone has to be so critical about everything. I thought it was entartaining, sure it wasn't good acting but at least it was funny. The video by Bill Gates which included a bunch of celebrities was very funny. The technology that they presented--which by the way is what most pay attention to, not the guitar hero face-off at the end--is very promising. Did anyone notice Sync? It's the technology in new Ford models which can make playing music and making phone calls easier and safer than ever!

"Cringe City"
Cringe city is having the letter i placed before every word. Very ridiculous!

You do not consider all the new technology they presented useful and cool? You must be in denial

At least the chick was pretty hot. Shes no rock star as others have stated but hey she was nice eye candy and hence Gates phony Guitar Hero showdown gains some merit.
