An actual release date for Haze is slowly becoming clear, in so much as we've now got a three month window to focus on. Ars Technica spoke with Ubisoft who confirmed that the game is expected between now and the end of March (for you fiscal calendar trackers that's Ubisoft's Q4).
The release date of Haze has certainly kept up with the game's name. Originally expected for the holidays, the title was mercifully delayed for what Ubisoft says was to "put the final touches to the game." More recently there were rumors of a possible January release, which finally lead to Ubisoft giving this Q4 window -- but we've had a confirmed release date before, so hopefully by the time the Nectar causing this ridiculous release experience wears off the game will be out.

actually, Fernando, as a Playstation 3 owner and fan, i'm excited about this game because it was made by the people that made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64, the quality Timesplitters series, and a great game called Second Sight, which had a *GREAT story, and solid, enjoyable gameplay (if not perfect or revolutionary).
i've been following this game since it was announced. the fact that it was multi-platform at the time didn't bother me. as long as the PS3 was getting the game, i don't *CARE if it's coming to the 360 or not.
tell me, why the hell do you even *COME to Playstation 3 related stories if you hate the console so much?
i don't like the Wii, but you *NEVER see me in Wii threads bashing or hating on Nintendo (it actually bothers me that i don't care for Nintendo these days, as i grew up in the 80's; been playing Nintendo consoles since i was 5 years old in 1985; and i owe a lot to them, but the Wii is not my cup of tea. and yes, i've played every major game released on the Wii; it does nothing for me. i love Smash Bros, though, just not enough to get a Wii).
we get it, Fernando, you don't like the Playstation 3. now will you please leave it alone?
i'm beginning to think you actually have a *CRUSH on it, or at the least secretly covet it.
i'm following Haze in the same way that people will be looking forward to Epic's next game: because the developers have a solid pedigree.

i also have a question for those who don't like the Playstation 3 because of Sony:
what, exactly, does Sony have to do with your enjoyment of, say, Metal Gear Solid 4, or Devil May Cry? or God of War, or Resident Evil 4, or Final Fantasy?
i could care less about Sony as a company, as long as the Playstation continues to deliver solid entertainment.
i feel the same way about Microsoft. i can't stand them as a corporation, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the hell out of Bioshock, and Fable, and KOTOR, or any number of quality X Box and X Box 360 titles out there.
*EVERY major corporation is full of shit, and doesn't give a rats ass about us. that doesn't stop me from enjoying when they release a quality product.
they create content to get our money. that's all. they don't do it for creative integrity, or because they like us. it's for our *MONEY.
and honestly, i don't have a problem with that, as long as i get something out of the deal.
a problem arises when they stop fulfilling their part of the bargain, ie, the Red Rings and disc scratching issues of the 360, or Live connection problems.
if i didn't want a Blu Ray player, along with a games console, i would not have bought a Playstation 3. i'm not an idiot consumer. i don't just buy something because it has "Playstation" on the box. considering that Blu Ray is seemingly winning the format war, it's even *MORE of a bonus that the PS3 has a Blu Ray player. since the 360 doesn't have an HD DVD drive built in, 360 owners haven't been burned either.
i research a product based off of my own personal tastes as a gamer/film buff and all around lover of multi-media capabilities in products.
based off of those needs, and my own personal tastes in games (i prefer action/adventure games and RPGs over shooters), i went with a Playstation 3.
i *HAVE an HDTV, so i like HD media, so Blu Ray being built into the PS3 was a nice bonus. i love gaming in HD more than watching movies, but i like that the functionality is there.
i won't say that i use every single function the PS3 has to offer, but it's nice to have it there. i've used the memory stick readers. i've surfed the net more than a handfull of times (and it's even nicer being able to do it on a 40" 720p Samsung). i own about 10 Blu Ray movies and 9 PS3 games, with more soon to be added on both fronts. i have a mouse and keyboard connected via USB. i also have my fiance's external HDD hooked up to the PS3 also, so i can watch the videos, and listen to the music stored on there. i've also streamed video, music, and photos from my PC to my PS3.
considering that Sony never denied, or tried to hide the fact that there was a Blu Ray drive in the Playstation 3, i don't feel bamboozled or "had", or even "forced" to buy into a format i didn't want. if i didn't want HD, i would have stuck with my Playstation 2, X Box, and Gamecube. after researching the Blu Ray format, i decided to throw my money behind it. it's fortunate then, that Blu Ray is winning the format war, but i wouldn't have been sour about it if it *LOST. early adoption is *ALWAYS a risk, and i'm aware of that.
the point is; i've gotten, and continue to get, my money's worth from my PS3. i expect, that if i had an X Box 360 (i currently satisfy all my X Box 360 needs on my roommate's 360 until i get mine later this year, when more games i want come out for it), i'd get my money's worth too.
owning one system over the other is not a bad thing. owning both systems is not a bad thing.
what i don't understand is why people will let a *CORPORATION limit the experiences they have.
like i said before, i hate Microsoft, but i *WILL own a 360 for games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Alan Wake, and Too Human, once the latter 3 are released (i'm not buying a 360 *JUST for Bioshock and Mass Effect).
i bought my PS3 first, because games like Resistance, Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank Future, Uncharted, and Unreal Tournament 3 appealed to me. not to mention the quality multi-platform titles like The Darkness, Rainbow Six Vegas, Oblivion, Fight Night Round 3, and Call of Duty 4 (to name but a few), just added to the package. also, the Playstation 3's lineup for 2008 interested me more than the 360s, and i wanted to get the hardware purchase out of the way.
to each his own, but holding a personal vendetta against a faceless corporation just doesn't make sense to me.
not liking the Playstation 3 because it doesn't have games you like to play i understand. but hating the Playstation 3 because, i don't know, Sony is Sony, makes no sense. if the PS3 was a piece of crap technology (which it clearly is not), i'd understand hating it also.
the same applies to hating the 360 or Wii because you hate Microsoft and Nintendo.

While I could rant on and on about sony and how much I think they're total idiots who don't even know their own fanbase, I try not to let that affect my opinions on Sony games. The fact is I don't think MGS4 is all that interesting. It's not because it's a sony game, and it's not because of the ps3, but mostly it's because I'm turned off by all the crazy shit Kojima puts in when he's high. I mean the fact is I've never been particularly interested in any of Sony's exclusives, and even when i had a ps2 I mostly just bought xbox games.
But I do respect what you're saying though, and as long as you feel you got your money's worth, then that's all that matters. I'm just tired of the usual Sonyfanboy jibes at RROD. What's that supposed to mean? Should I just give up on my 360 just because it could fail at anytime? No. I accepted this fact the moment I handed in my cash to the gamestop cashier. And if it does fail, I'll just send it in and get a new one. I bought the 360 over the ps3 because I felt that the 360 was the right console for me. I honestly didn't care about the perks that the ps3 had(like blu-ray). All I wanted was a solid gaming experience and I felt that the 360 provided that.

Well put Figboy, and Vegeta I've gotta say that I respect what you say and just glad you're not another Fernando. The only thing that surprises me about what you say is that you were not interested in any of the Ps2 exclusives, really? What about GoW 1 & 2, RE4 (yes available on GC), Shadow of the Col., ICO, Ratchet, Jak, GT3 aspec - GT4, any number of great RPGs, Gitaroo man, REZ, etc. etc.?
After leaving here last night I watched some new videos for this game, because while I was excited for it I was not totally blown over by it. After viewing those videos last night I have to say that I am even more excited about it than I was before. Not only are the graphics incredible looking, but the game play looks extremely interesting. It looks really cool how the dev team implemented the effects of nectar into the game play, should if nothing else make for a different approach to the whole FPS genre.

gameplay on this one looks cookie cutter to me. and c'mon, you've got something in the game called Nectar and you've got guys running around in black and yellow, looking like bee's? ugh.. Something about that seems painfully forced.
