Well atleast they are making cool stuff for the PSP but... idk making a touch screen psp...? well if they make that shit up everyone will buy it, BUT if they drop the PSP then the PSP is gonna be fucked up! and if the PSP survive's the fall the screen is gonna be scratched and the keyboard thing well it's a good idea cuz' everyone hate's the PSP's web browser just because of the way you text it it's kinda hard too when you're in a hurry but yay! atleast they are making it! or made it...anyway's about the PSP thing with phone thing's it's a good idea too BUT! where your going to talk?? the PSP doesn't have anything the phone's have well almost they should put Bluetooth to it! now that's gonna rock! and make a 100GB memory stick for it! (it's gonna cost ALOT!) but it's worth it! and yeah about what rax-g said about the PSP running any video format and picture format's cuz I have a lot of GIF image's for PSP and they should make it run in like a normal wallpaper! make any song format run in it too well I didn't like the touch screen thing but it's cool anyway's well that's all I think...C'ya!

PS: can I buy the PSP keyboard separately?? answer fast plz!

We are talking about videogames companies... about Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft. The DS and PSP...

Yes... Nintendo was the first one in use touchscreen as the primary device in a gaming handheld.

I think a little handheld called Game.com would beg to differ.

So I guess the long-term goal for PSP is to perform a slow Frankenstein transformation into the N*Gage...?

Mid 2009...Jesus H. Christ...that's a friggin year and a half away...by that time, DS 3.0 will be out.

Fernando, get over it, everyone is going touchscreen.

PSP should have went with an internal drive and ditched UMD....created an iTunes interface for PC and go with the whole PC to PSP model. Download favorites games, load them up, take them with you. PSP with an 80GB drive would be SWEET. If Apple can do it, Sony surely could.

yes, I agree that this would be awesome.

Just like UMD-R's would have been awesome.

Neither will ever happen, though.

Problem with that option is every other day you see people bitching and bitching and bitching about downloaded games having zero trade-in value, etc, etc.

Now, while that would be a cool feature, do you really think an ala carte PSP service would somehow avoid the "sony is teh evil" rants we see here every fucking day?

The idea is sound, the people are morons. Morons hate ideas, idea becomes unprofitable.

Besides, there is still the good old fashioned love of changing games and manuals I'm not willing to give up.

Yeah, an 80 GB drive that is hard drive based. Do you know what that means? It means it's using spinning platters and stuff.. on a portable device. 3 years time that hard drive will be pretty much dead and needs to be replaced.

A year and a half? What are they doing, putting one guy on the assembly line to cover however many million units? Anyone with half a brain could get a final prototype in a month or two. This should have been done two years ago.

And that would be incorrect how?
It'll probably retail for somewhere between the £30-40 mark anyway knowing Sony, and they'll ship with a lame little IM program that only works with people who are sat next to you, á la Pictochat, but you pay extra :(

This sort of peripheral would have been useful either at release or when firmware 2.0 came out with the web browser. Anyone ever try to write an email on a PSP?

If it came out tomorrow I'd say too little too late. But it's coming a year and a half from now. I can only laugh.
