Great choice. I've sunk more hours into Sid Meier games than any other developer or franchise in gaming. No exageration.

I don't blame you, he and Will Wright are the kings of sandbox gaming.

Well hopefully Sid will be able to look back and say "I won that lifetime achievement award quite early in my career".

Long live Sid Meier!

Sid Meier is clearly an evil man.

Civilization is too good and obviously part of a secret plot to control humanity.

Bull, he is teaching us how to built space ships to Alpha Centauri and dump all of our efforts into science early on so we can crush the competing swordsmen with our tanks and marines.

All I know that is that Sid Meier has taken away more nights of sleep away from me than I bear to think of, and has been responsible for too many pissed off girlfriends and parents.

Learning how to rule the world is definitely not worth all this aggravation.

In high school, I played Pirates! thru 4am - and woke up for class 3 hours later (it was a long train ride to Bx Sci). I was thoroughly addicted to Pirates.

I can't think of anyone else more deserving, he has created some of my favorite games of all time.
