Wii Fit feels the burn, sells 1 million in Japan

The Wii Fit ~~exercise machine~~ pressure pad has sold one million units in Japan since its Dec. 1 release. And just like the millions of gym memberships left hanging each year, we have to wonder just how many of these things have actually inspired weight loss.

Wii Fit still doesn't have a US or European release date yet (we're guessing Nintendo has to figure out how to support more than 300 lbs. first), but given Wii's broad demographic, once westernized, Wii Fit could easily become the system's must-have impulse buy – and the first 'game' to actually give us guilt trips.

This is not supposed to be a exercise tool. It is meant to promote a healthy lifestyle. So that when you play the soccer minigame, you will go out and play real soccer

If that's any indication, it will sell upwards of 3 million in North America in the same time frame

Also: screw the haters. Nintendo puts out Wii Fit on one hand, and one of the most hardcore games of this generation out with the other

Uhg, this is probably going to outsell galaxy.

The first game to give me guilt trips was Animal Crossing. Then KOTOR. And now, Phantom Hourglass.

To everyone hating on Wii fit, you think it's a gimmick? Because your too lazy to even use it. Wii fit probably intimidates you, I bet you don't want the Wii to know your whacked posture, or how flabby or weak your Mii actually is. I exercise, even Wii sports helps. Your probably the dudes playing Wii sports with your wrists, sitting down. Which is probably why your hating on the next step. The type whose only going to do 5 push ups on Wii fit, is the kid hating it. It is going to be the most useful title out for any console this year.
