Ok, now that I have stopped crying ...

Great podcast! I realized that I am a gamer after a long struggle with definitions and proofs. After I gave up on ever achieving certainty, I decided to leave Princeton and go see the grand canyon. As I was lifting my foot to get on the bus, I realized that I am a gamer.

I ran back to my office and quickly wrote down the result, lest I forget.

I never did see grand kanyon.

Some time later, I was surfting and read a noir fiction take in the Japanese hardware sales and that's when I fell in love with Joystiq and ... and

oh, Ludwig, I miss you so!

Ever wake up in the middle of the night with your hands up in the air as if you were holding a controller? Stunt Race FX did that to me, despite its horrible framerate, I loved that game.

I've also found myself stacking things to form boxes and lines. Thanks Tetris. Similarly, I've shifted those things around in my mind as if I was trying to clear them and form combos, like in Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon.

I beat the broken comment system with that last post.

Here's the deal, guys. When you click "Add Your Comments" and come to a blank page, don't refresh, don't click Back and try again, just click Back and get back to Joystiq. Your comment should show up after you refresh the Comments page.

Justin, I hope you don't take any offense to all of the Ludwig comments. I personally VERY MUCH appreciate you working hard keeping the podcast on schedule and moving along smoothly.
Also, you sir are hilarious.

Keep it up!

Ubisoft didnt blackball EGM because of their review score of Assassins Creed, it was their previews that Ubisoft didnt like according to Hsu's blog. I dont think it was in any way EGMs fault, I read all of their Assassins creed previews and and they pointed out the problems with the game, but also that it wasnt final and anything could be changed. This is just Ubisoft crying because their only good game that came out this year had its few faults pointed out.

As a side note, their 7.0 for Assassins Creed was a great score. As someone who beat Assassins Creed and completed most of the side things like saving the citizens, the game is good but has a few glaring problems with it. The repetitive dialog is annoying as hell, every female citizen says one line, and a male says another. Also its hard to get immersed in a world where you get pulled out after each assassination so you can sleep and talk to that girl. The overall repetitive nature of the game is another thing keeping it from being an 8 or a 9. All it consists of is getting three pieces of info and killing a guy at the end nine times.

I am conflicted on my thoughts for Creed. The game is amazing (minus the predictable plot twist and the sci fi stuff) and it makes me wonder if I am spoiled as a gamer. Ive been gaming for over twenty years and have seen so many changes in the medium. We are still early into this console generation and devs have not been able to exploit the hardware to it's max. I feel like im spoiled when I say that there needs to be more variation in characters appearance and dialog in Assassins Creed and Elder Scrolls. Look how amazing they are. The cities and gameplay are solid and I think they will only get better with the sequels. Though I suppose that if we dont demand the best we wont get it. Im all for (gasp) EGM on this. Despite the "maxim" style of their mag these early previews are good.

One thing you guys didn't seem to touch on when discussing EGM getting blackballed by Ubisoft is that they are a print magazine and they have to explain to their readers why say, reviews for Ubisoft games could end up being delayed by up to 2 issues because they'll have to pick up their review copies at the store when everyone else gets them. That's something that readers of the magazine deserve to know about and it's not just Shoe trying to shame them into reversing their stance. People seem to forget that as a magazine they have print lead times that they have to account for.

I might even go buy a calendar so I can denote this special, special day and remember it always.

I used to think that Brush With Fame was just a kind of bizarre and silly game.

Now I'm able to look down on the rest of you plebes and recognize that, in fact, being brushed with fame does indeed make you better than everyone else.

Er...

Thanks anyway for the BWF.

p.s.

Two things:

1. I have a Masters in Psychology and nothing would make me happier than writing for a gaming blog.

2. Justin wins 10 cool points for liking Whiskeytown. I don't own Rock Band, but if a version called Alt-Country Band was released I'd be all over it.
