Our friends over at the Wiicast noticed a pretty upfront warning on Capcom's new Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law game, and one that, in the in interest of public welfare, we figured we should pass on. You've got to be able to read to "fully enjoy" Harvey Birdman. Confirmed. This raises some pretty obvious questions.
Are there many games that don't require reading to fully enjoy? Are there poor souls out there stuck, staring at title screens and wondering why people say video games are so fun? Also, how is a non-reader supposed to read the warning? We know, we know, this message could be designed for parents. But if we may be so bold, if that is the case, perhaps a book would be the wiser purchase.

Buyers beware... This game is oh so funny, but also insanely short and from what I can tell very little replay value.

Well, basic reading ability is not really required for certain games like Ouendan, so it isn't always true. :p

See the joke here? Joystiq is owned by AOL Time Warner. So is the Cartoon Network, where adult swim is aired. On Birdman, they constantly take shots at AOL Time Warner.
It's funny because they are poking fun at the boss.
This seems like a veiled piece of advertising for the game, that...had no real advertising.
As it is, the game is Colbert-less. It really hurt the experience when you here Sebben say: "HA HAAA!"; and have it totally butchered by some guy.

I think they're serious D: You can find the same warning on the back of the box for Tales of Phantasia.

It's been a nintendo staple, however usually it's small. The fact it's large is probably to poke fun considering the franchise its based off.

I take it back, it's not large. Just ENlarged.

When did video games become this bad that you have to read to play?
