Video: Babies explode in latest Bloodshot trailer
17
A new Condemned 2: Bloodshot trailer just got posted over at Gamespot and after giving it a watch, we're quite impressed.
The new trailer gives us a brief look at our down on his luck hero Ethan who is battling the bottle, reality and some twisted stuff that's going on. We also get to see one of the newest "weapons" we'll get to wield in Bloodshot and it's an exploding baby doll ... serious. Just give the two minute trailer a watch as we're sure you just got over your nightmares that the original Condemned gave you. Now, with Bloodshot, you'll have an all new hellish experience that'll be sure to make you stay up at night, with a bottle of scotch by your bedside.
[Thanks, terrence]

Looks great!
In my case I'd keep whiskey nearby...
...Or of course Game Fuel...

i never saw what the buzz about the first game was. played the demo and it had wanky controls, strange animations and was not very fun. The crime scene stuff was cool but going around smaking zombie like character with my crowbar was utterly lame.

It was a good game. I rented it because, at the time, there was nothing else really worth playing.
The game gets really good and has some of the best "mood" of any survival/horror game I have ever played (Resident Evils, The Suffering, Doom 3).
It would be worth a play through if there weren't so many other great games to be playing right now. It had a lot of bugs (textures missing in some places so one wall would be all black and you had to keeping on taking pictures until you finally found the blood splatter you needed to analyze), but I would be sure that that was due to it being rushed out.
This new version looks pretty damn beautiful and should be the game the first one had the potential to be.

the first one was scary enough...I'm stoked on the fight club feature that this one is gonna have though.

Damn, HOTNESS!
Can't wait to play this at night in a really dark room with the surround sound blasting. These are the only types of games my girlfriend will watch me play. We love the horrorz.

Yeah, this looks really cool. I'm going to pick this one up! I love killing babies! Oh, um... in video games.

I am looking forward to this game, I heard graphical improvements on the game, but it's kind of hard to see. some of the game looks really nice and some looks a bit bland. I will still pick this game up for sure.

I dunno why, but I started thinking about Bioshock when I saw that video. The wrench, the lighting, and the exploding children... is it just me? Did the guys that made systemshock make this too?

Exploding babies? C’mon… that’s like filling weak character dialog with useless profanity to make poor writing have some impact. Apparently a lack of creativity can now be compensated with shock and horror to satisfy some juvenile blood lust. Not my type of game obviously but does anyone else out there in the gaming community feel this is just wrong? I wanted to like Bioshock but the excess human mutilation, hearing the song “Jesus Loves Me”, and then having to slay ‘little sisters’ - little girls to get any power in the game… alright, the old guy with a young kid will stop sounding like your parent and leave. But do think about it twice about buying these games and creating the demand, please.

You make a good point Edge, this does, even to me seem a bit over the top. We should all remember, the games industry is already getting enough attention over less violent things, I don't really think we need developers to be pushing the boundaries with exploding babies, but it is a game i.e. not real.

One: It's not a real baby, it's a doll. If you played the first game you'd know how much mannequins came into play. I don't really think Monolith will have you clubbing babies, I don't think there's any studio that tasteless (except maybe Running With Scissors or whoever it is who makes the Postal games).
Two: Condemned: Criminal Origins did a good job of making you feel bad for what you were doing from time to time. I think it especially kicked in when you started going insane, it kind of made you think.
I guess I just really hate it when people knock something before they try it. Condemned: CO was a really really solid game with amazing atmosphere and while it's enemies were a bit repetitive here and there, I honestly have to say they did very well at keeping a good mix of new enemies with previously encountered enemies.
Overall, for a launch game especially, the game was great. And yes, I do plan on picking up the sequel and I have been planning on it since it was released.
Though, I will admit I miss Greg Grunberg voicing Ethan Thomas.
