Rumor: Sam & Max coming to the Wii according to German press release

It's been almost a year now since the rumor of a Wii version of the Sam & Max series surfaced after Telltale Games began searching for a Wii programmer to add to their staff. Now, a German press release for JoWooD Productions' latest creation, a Wii adaptation of the PC adventure title Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None, has all but confirmed a Sam & Max adventure on Nintendo's console, which JoWooD is apparently porting.
A translation of the press release specifically mentions that "Sam & Max will soon be hunting criminals on the Nintendo Wii," though Telltale Games, the developers of the PC adventure, have not yet confirmed their intent to port the game to consoles. However, the press release seems on the level, and based on earlier evidence, we're fairly certain that we'll be seeing everyone's favorite revolver-toting, anthropomorphic dog and hyperkinetic rabbity thing on the Wii in the near future.

Any news about the new Wii RPG?
http://gonintendo.com/?p=33197
I really want a new Super Mario RPG or Kingdom Hearts 3.
The Artist formally known as Jesus @ Jan 13th 2008 3:31PM
I'd say a new Mario RPG is more likely than Kingdom Hearts 3 on Wii.
Purple Haze @ Jan 13th 2008 4:37PM
Mario RPG pretty much turned into the Paper Mario series didn't it?
hvnlysoldr @ Jan 13th 2008 4:42PM
Though erasing memory might allude to Chain of Memories for the GBA which was a tie-in from KH1 to KH2. (Don't care for Sora in Brawl) So maybe Mushroom Kingdom Hearts: Legend of the Seven Memory Stars will be coming?
mr nimblewick @ Jan 13th 2008 6:19PM
It's a port of FFXIII.
Superstar90 @ Jan 13th 2008 10:08PM
It could possibly be the tie-in of KH2 and KH3... Like the next Chain of Memories. I think KH3 will be on PS3, unless Square pulls a Capcom... or a DQ9... again.

Nintendo Power did a feature on a upcoming RPG. The Sonic RPG.
Mr Khan @ Jan 13th 2008 2:52PM
I wouldn't call this a rumor, Telltale themselves have said that they have been working on creating DLC for WiiWare and Live Arcade. This was affirmed the first time by their desire to hire someone with experience in creating Wii & 360 content, and later the fact that they said it, i think it was E3 2007, but i can't be sure

I'd buy it.
I'd also buy it if it included Neighbors from Hell as an extra :)
Geist @ Jan 13th 2008 3:03PM
If Zack and Wiki has shown anything to me, it's that the Wii is an excellent platform for adventure games.
Dopple Boppler @ Jan 13th 2008 6:39PM
Let's just hope more people buy this than Zack and Wiki; it's so depressing when great games go unnoticed.
Rhandos @ Jan 13th 2008 3:30PM
It's funny how you mention "rumor" and "press release" in the same line.
Or is "rumor" just a buzzword to increase the hits?
hvnlysoldr @ Jan 13th 2008 4:44PM
It brings to question if the press release was faked. And also to the exact content. Such as a port of the PC version on retail disc format and WiiWare or a new project. Also doubt on the studio.
DVersion @ Jan 13th 2008 4:19PM
Wait, what?
Unless it's a brand new sam and max game porting it to the wii is just stupid.
No motion control, all it would be is pointing with your arm and clicking, and any platform can do that.
And really there's no excuse for anyone with a PC to get a wii version instead of downloading the first season from steam, gametap, or even the tellatale website.

let's say i don't like playing games on my computer (which I don't) and I like Sam & Max (which I do). Anything that'll sell more copies of this game can only be good thing. They just need to figure out how to market it better than Capcom did with Zack and Wiki...

"They just need to figure out how to market it better than Capcom did with Zack and Wiki..."
What, you mean ACTUALLY MARKET IT?!
Jack @ Jan 13th 2008 5:37PM
Didn't they also hire a PS3 developer. Still waiting for my PSN Sam and Max...
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jan 13th 2008 6:51PM
This rumor has already been confirmed by Gonintendo. It's happening.

i'm all for adventures and old school point and clicks =D
wich reminds me ....
Zack and Wiki proved that Wii is an awesome plataform for point and click .... and Metroid proved that it is an awesome for fps ...
so ... where is the game that ill prove that it is awesome for Warcraft3/starcraft/Age and other mouse needed kind of games ?
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 13th 2008 7:23PM
Isnt this comming to the 360 as well?
BPM64 - The Second Attack! @ Jan 13th 2008 10:15PM
Adventure games? On /my/ Wii?
It's more likely than you think.
Jhongerkong @ Jan 13th 2008 10:25PM
How is it interracial if its single only?
Ethan @ Jan 14th 2008 5:57AM
Don't be silly. Sam and Max is interspecies!
Mr.ESC @ Jan 14th 2008 11:35AM
Yay!

From telltalegames.com:
"...we don't have anything official to announce right now. It's no secret that we want to bring Sam & Max to the Wii, and we're pursuing it, but it's not something we're ready to confirm just yet. (When we are, this site will be the place to look!)"
