Spurred by questions about the weekend recap showing up on a Monday, the Joystiq writers held a summit these past 48 hours -- if Lost can explain 3 seasons in 8'15" and The Wire can do 4 seasons in 4 minutes, then surely we can think of a few sentences to justify our Monday placement. But we failed, so here's the weekend recap on a Sunday night. (Image Credit: Emo Squid) Check out the highlights for the weekend:

Also, I had no idea Samus was really a scuba diver.

I know that a date normally changes by a day every year, but don't leap years fuck things up, considering that 7 is not a multiple of 4?

That is King Hippo. He is from Punch-Out. His belly was his weak spot, but you had to hit him in the mouth before he would reveal it.
Awesome game. I still have the Mike Tyson version :)

Samus is actually a female version of a Big Daddy. I guess that'd be Big Mama. Isn't that the new final boss of Metal Gear Solid 4?

Traditionally, Link has always been left-handed until Twilight Princess on the Wii came out: he became right-handed to accustom the majority of Wii players, as it'd feel awkward if the character's hands were inverted.
But Link is left-handed on the GameCube version because that was how it was originally designed.
My vote goes to Link being left-handed, but claiming that he had always been a lefty is a cake.

Summary of why Weekends end on Monday: We didn't have Griffin McElroy doing the weekend posts so it was almost unnecessary to bunch five posts together. GG Griffin.

I STILL have that calendar. Though it is heavily marked up with various "important" events from 1991.

Hmm.. a calendar..
Anyway, thanks for that Lost summary. Ever since i got bored of it and gave up watching it half way through the first season I'd been wondering if I should have stuck with it, if I was missing something really clever or good.
Now I can feel happy I made the right decision and didn't waste countless hours of my life it...

I had that calendar as a kid... man do I miss that (got lost when I moved). It was pretty awesome. I still have my old Super Mario Bros. comforter though.
