Burnout 3: Takedown available now on Xbox Originals
We know you don't think you need a reminder – after all it was less than a week ago that we told you Burnout 3: Takedown was crashing (in quite a spectacular fashion, mind you) onto the Xbox Live Marketplace as an Xbox Original – but we wanted to make sure you remembered all the details. First, how much does it cost? Bzzt, wrong! It's 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15 of your Earth dollars (yes, we're aware that's $5 more than the actual Burnout 3 disc used). Second, when is it due out? Alright, the 2.32GB title is available right now, you got that correct ... but only because you read the headline first. Which is totally cheating.

You know what... your nickname fits perfectly.
fwacce @ Jan 14th 2008 7:59PM
Only losers try and be the first post and misspell it.
Obie @ Jan 14th 2008 8:05PM
"FIST"
More like "BANNED!"
Jeff @ Jan 14th 2008 8:05PM
Game companies are definitely taking a note from GameStop: "Let's resell old crap for more than it costs anywhere else and make a shitload of profit from idiots!"
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jan 14th 2008 9:43PM
Are you kidding me? Game developers have doing this for years!!!
Grant @ Jan 14th 2008 10:41PM
anyone who's played mario party 3-7 could have told you that.
Obie @ Jan 14th 2008 8:07PM
I saw Burnout 3 at the bargain bin at Best Buy for $9.99...beats buying this Hard drive space eating piece of DRM by a LONG shot.
ScottyGEE32 @ Jan 14th 2008 8:33PM
DRM? Are you complaining that its so bad to be riddled with DRm even though it probably will not ever actually affect you unless you want to play it on another xbox? In which case why woul you use another xbox to even play it?
So really, complaining about the DRM seems a non-issue to me...Unless of course, there's more DRM than the xbox/gamertag linkage than I know about....
Obie @ Jan 14th 2008 8:37PM
Actually the titles work just like the XBLA games, so if you are not online or (ghasp) XBL does not let you sign in, guess what your game doesn't work.
It's a legitimate complaint if you don't have access to something you own.
T3H WICKERMAN (FDF) @ Jan 14th 2008 8:42PM
Im with obie on this. No more downloads till that shit gets straightened out. All 60+ games that I have that no longer work unless im online (which is hard to do due to all the recent troubles with live) and some that dont even work when im on. No play no more pay.
ScottyGEE32 @ Jan 14th 2008 9:22PM
Serious? I've never run into that problem...That really does suck. And now I understand your complaint.
colin @ Jan 14th 2008 9:32PM
all my xbla games work when i am offline ... i don't know what you guys are talking about. i had heard that they wouldn't work when i am not connected to xbl, but i recently got my 360 back (from being repaired) and i got a different box with a different mac address. it was late and i didn't feel like messing with my router so i just played a few of my xbla games. all the ones i tested worked great. and mind you this is on a new box that had never been connected to xbl. i just plugged my old hdd in and everything i had worked.
Paul @ Jan 15th 2008 1:14AM
@ colin
well you are one of the lucky few.....i heard something about maybe the games will work but you can never get anymore achievements on them or something....i don't know where i heard that, probably just some random kid saying nonsense on another blog site.....

You know, I'll pay 5.99 for a Playstation game. They're getting semi-difficult to find (at least locally). I was very overjoyed to find Twisted Metal 2 in the Playstation Store.
On the other hand Burnout 3 is so cheap and plentiful that homeless people use them as 40oz coasters.
I mean, I guess the option to buy is nice. I'd have to be very hard up for some Burnout 3 action to want to pay 15 bucks for it again.
Blue_Falcon @ Jan 14th 2008 8:09PM
So of the $15 for games purchased for the Xbox Originals, does anyone know how much (if any) goes to the developers of the game?
I'm considering buying quite a few of the Xbox Original games, so at least they'd make the money, instead of GameStop or Target or whoever.
Phillip Carrington @ Jan 14th 2008 8:21PM
Does anyone know if the Xbox Live option is enabled?
LuckyEMS @ Jan 14th 2008 8:35PM
since EA turned off the servers?
Daxter1985 @ Jan 14th 2008 8:50PM
actualy the servers are online
Hashbrown_Hunter @ Jan 14th 2008 8:30PM
Burnout 3 = wicked!
XB Originals = meh.
plyx @ Jan 14th 2008 9:05PM
Firts!
Socha @ Jan 14th 2008 9:58PM
Ehh, i got this game for free via goozex, but I might pay some money for a copy of the game with slower load times (not $15, though).
That's the only reason anyone would buy it, in my opinion.
Socha @ Jan 14th 2008 10:05PM
crap! faster load times! faster! don't get the wrong idea Microsoft!!!
Grant @ Jan 14th 2008 10:43PM
too late, they already heard.
And the notes are taken.
Brian Fantana @ Jan 14th 2008 10:24PM
It is, by far, the best one. I'll probably download it.
ThornedVenom @ Jan 15th 2008 2:34AM
If I had a 360, I'd get it. But I'd probably end up being pissed that the 360 for only supporting small proprietary HDDs.
Raikage (Wii FC 5508 0487 4434 0992) @ Jan 15th 2008 3:43AM
Is it strange for this to be one of my all time favorite games?
Liqideos @ Jan 16th 2008 1:40AM
At least with PS Store games you have the option of transferring over to your PSP. You're kind of locked to the box with the overpriced originals.
