Burnout 3: Takedown available now on Xbox Originals
29
We know you don't think you need a reminder – after all it was less than a week ago that we told you Burnout 3: Takedown was crashing (in quite a spectacular fashion, mind you) onto the Xbox Live Marketplace as an Xbox Original – but we wanted to make sure you remembered all the details. First, how much does it cost? Bzzt, wrong! It's 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15 of your Earth dollars (yes, we're aware that's $5 more than the actual Burnout 3 disc used). Second, when is it due out? Alright, the 2.32GB title is available right now, you got that correct ... but only because you read the headline first. Which is totally cheating.

Game companies are definitely taking a note from GameStop: "Let's resell old crap for more than it costs anywhere else and make a shitload of profit from idiots!"

You know, I'll pay 5.99 for a Playstation game. They're getting semi-difficult to find (at least locally). I was very overjoyed to find Twisted Metal 2 in the Playstation Store.
On the other hand Burnout 3 is so cheap and plentiful that homeless people use them as 40oz coasters.
I mean, I guess the option to buy is nice. I'd have to be very hard up for some Burnout 3 action to want to pay 15 bucks for it again.

DRM? Are you complaining that its so bad to be riddled with DRm even though it probably will not ever actually affect you unless you want to play it on another xbox? In which case why woul you use another xbox to even play it?
So really, complaining about the DRM seems a non-issue to me...Unless of course, there's more DRM than the xbox/gamertag linkage than I know about....

Im with obie on this. No more downloads till that shit gets straightened out. All 60+ games that I have that no longer work unless im online (which is hard to do due to all the recent troubles with live) and some that dont even work when im on. No play no more pay.

Serious? I've never run into that problem...That really does suck. And now I understand your complaint.

all my xbla games work when i am offline ... i don't know what you guys are talking about. i had heard that they wouldn't work when i am not connected to xbl, but i recently got my 360 back (from being repaired) and i got a different box with a different mac address. it was late and i didn't feel like messing with my router so i just played a few of my xbla games. all the ones i tested worked great. and mind you this is on a new box that had never been connected to xbl. i just plugged my old hdd in and everything i had worked.

So of the $15 for games purchased for the Xbox Originals, does anyone know how much (if any) goes to the developers of the game?
I'm considering buying quite a few of the Xbox Original games, so at least they'd make the money, instead of GameStop or Target or whoever.

Ehh, i got this game for free via goozex, but I might pay some money for a copy of the game with slower load times (not $15, though).
That's the only reason anyone would buy it, in my opinion.

If I had a 360, I'd get it. But I'd probably end up being pissed that the 360 for only supporting small proprietary HDDs.

Is it strange for this to be one of my all time favorite games?

At least with PS Store games you have the option of transferring over to your PSP. You're kind of locked to the box with the overpriced originals.
