Not to be confused with a mode that presents users with a series of challenges to overcome, this mode is set aside to inform players of rewards and how to unlock them. Once you reveal one reward (see the CD up there, that's a track you can listen to as a reward), the windows on either side of it will turn red. Once red, you can then look in and see how to unlock the reward shown.

Certain ones cannot be instant broken by Golden Hammers. I think they're characters or stages.

This is almost literally ripped straight out of Kirby Air Ride, it had the same system. Achieve one goal, and the goals around it would reveal themselves, then you could see how to achieve the next goal
The Golden Hammers seem to equate to the "purple squares" you got in air ride. Each purple square (which was an award in itself) allowed you to automatically "clear" one achievement that you felt was too hard
Sakurai, you clever man

I was hoping this unlocking system would be used in another game, it was excellent.

There's a trophy of the home run bat aswell. In mellee there were different ways of getting trophies if you recall. For example, the Majorah's Mask trophy. Birdo may be an assist trophy but I think that that there is just a trophy.
Frankly it seems more unlikely that you would have to unlock items because that hasn't been done before

Please for the love of God release this game right now.
You know what, I'm just going to invent a time machine so I can go play it. Or maybe I'll freeze myself...

Damnit, everything they release just makes me want to play it one bit more. This unlocking system is brilliant; I'm picturing a huge 360 degree wall of stuff to unlock. Awesome, awesome.

They've announced WAAAAAAAAAAY more than what is even on that screen, I'm sure. Also I wanted to comment on how this was right from Kirby Air Ride as well but I guess I'm too late for that.

This just gets me more excited. Seriously, not only will you randomly unlock things not knowing how, but now, without looking online or anything (which I hate doing), you can find out a couple more secrets and how to get them. And on your way getting them, maybe discover a couple more... brilliance. It's an endless loop until you get everything. If you ever can get everything.
I half want to just avoid using hammers altogether... I mean, it's so much fun knowing you accomplished that challenge yourself...
